[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): ehh, none really[/ul]
Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: I think I’m fairly well rounded, have pursued my interests/my writing/reccs
[] Weaknesses: GPA is relatively low
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Honestly, I think it could have gone either way. I was kind of on the brink, I felt in terms of everything. I loved (and still love!) Brown as a school - and applied to it because of that, not because of its Ivy status
[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California (lower acceptance rate than any Ivy, haha :D), Tisch at NYU, Boston College (Honors), UCLA, UMich, UCSD, Notre Dame. Brown was my only rejection  [/ul][/li]General Comments: Seriously, congrats to all those who are accepted. It’s an amazing school. However, in a way, I’m extremely grateful for my rejection. I feel that if I had been accepted to Brown, I would have been tempted to go merely for its reputation - despite the fact that I should go to film school because of my desire to pursue film as a career. The School of Cinematic Arts @ USC was my first choice - and I’m glad that I wasn’t accepted to Brown because it would’ve caused unnecessary conflict! Everything does happen for a reason. Best of luck Class of 2014!

Your SAT scores were low… end of story. It’s not like they did you a favor… You just didn’t make the cut. I doubt they even read your application.

[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not enough room for all the amazing people at Brown
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted @ UA Honors College, Rejected @ HYP[/ul]
General Comments: Really disappointed…but I’m going to try my hardest to get off the waiting list. I still love Brown!

Wait Listing question. My daughter has been waited listed at her number one choice and offered a very nice financial scholarship at another good contender. If she is to send in her non refundable deposit to the school offering the scholarship, is she under any legal obligation to attend because of the scholarship? From what I undestand she will not know if she is accepted by her number one school till June. Thank you for any insight.

“Your SAT scores were low… end of story. It’s not like they did you a favor… You just didn’t make the cut. I doubt they even read your application.”

Thats funny, because I got in with a lower SAT score (2190) and no hooks. They really don’t base the decision on SAT scores.
