- Advice? Make sure your passion for math and science comes through on your supplemental essay, but be yourself! Do extremely well on your SAT I and II’s. The internship also really helped. S sent emails to all the professors in the chemistry department at our most prestigious local university saying he wanted to be an intern and three of them offered him slots. It was a tremendous experience for him working on cutting edge research under a full professor and getting his name on the forthcoming journal article reporting on the research.
