Official Class of 2013 Brown Waitlist Thread

I don’t get what’s really going on anymore, either. I’m graduating tomorrow and I still didn’t hear from Brown! If they really are still making decisions, I can’t believe they just rejected some people like that. But I really hope for the best with everyone here. We are ALL going to college and that’s what matters.

Who else is preparing for the inevitable? No rejection letter yet in the mail. I really do NOT want to be put on the defer list; I want to go to college next year. And yet, a part of me feels so zapped from this entire experience. June 30th is gradually approaching. This process is deathly for the mind at least. Best of luck to everyone else.

S received final “we’re sorry” letter today.

I still get nothing…

Any word? I’m checking my box tommorrow, but so far nada. :(

A friend of mine just heard. Don’t lose hope!

The official word from Brown, at least what it told interviewers, is:

I think it’s over.

To those of you who didn’t get in – I sincerely hope you fall in love with the school you will be attending. Good luck next year!

It may not be entirely over. I was visiting Harvard last week after having been admitted there off the waitlist (I had a week to reply so I was checking it out), and when I got home I had a package admitting me to Brown’s class of 2014. I will go to Harvard 2013, so the Brown 2014 spot may still be open.

Congrats Miakoukla! Good luck with Harvard!

hi guys,
i was just admitted to the class of 2014…i cant decide between taking a year off or going to penn this year

Wow! Both great schools! I suggest you visit the campus of each school, contact your major department of interest, weight out financial aid packages and go from there! Good Luck! :)

@colleg

are you kidding? go to Penn. It is not worth taking a year off for any school unless you have only a SUBSTANTIALLY better choice. Penn and Brown are on the exact same tier and are relatively equal in all but that superficial selectivity of acceptance, in which they still only off by a few percentage points. Go to Penn, be a 2013, and forget taking a year off. You know how long a year is and what it would be like while your friends are in school while you are working?

On the class of 2014 acceptance card that you send in if you are accepting their offer for 2014, there’s a box to check if you would be interested in class of 2013 if summer melt happens and a spot opens up in that class. So that is still another chance, cuz I’ve read all over this forum that summer melt does happen.

Thanks for the information Miakoukla! Still waiting! :D
