whoops, when i pasted it was in a bracket format. Obviously we don’t need the interview, or Pratt/Trinity thing. Im going to try to post the version I copy and pasted from.

Ahhh! This is my first post. I’m super nervous & not anticipating good news but what are the lowest scores/GPAs we’ve all heard of getting in? I’ve heard 23 and super average gpa with one varsity sport. Fairly certain there weren’t any special circumstances. Might’ve been a legacy I guess.
Good luck to everyone(:

According to parchment, The lowest caliber accepted student had a 3.19 GPA and a 18 ACT. There’s a 1.1 gpa and a 14 ACT on there but something’s telling me they’re both bull.

hey this is my first post too. mich is my #1 and i’m freaking out!!
i applied to
EA: Indiana University (accepted), Tulane (accepted), penn state (safety), University of Florida (target since it’s so hard out of state), UNC (high reach), Mich (low reach), Wisco (target)

Oh. my. gosh. If what i’m reading is true, and there’s the slightest, eensy bitsy possibility we will find out Tuesday, I don’t think I’m ready… crappity crap crap, i’m scared. I wish you all luck!!!

The reason I doubt Tuesday is that they will be sending us a “Get Ready for our email” email before we get the actual decision. Nobody has gotten this yet: they should come out tmmrw (they came on this monday last year). However, it seems like short notice to send a “Get Ready” Email and then the decision only 24 hours later. Last year it was at least a 3 day wait between the two.

oh, fudge nuggets. i actually prepared myself for tuesday. well, whatever day it is, i’ve got my reactions ready. well, that’s a lie… idk what’s gonna happen. que sera, sera.

^ I kind of agree. I’d rather move on and not have to go through this crazy anxiousness for another 4 months(mid-April is SO far away). Plus, unless its like Harvard, I don’t know if I’d want to go to a school if I got deferred and then accepted. I’d feel like they didn’t want me, plus I’d feel awkward attending in the fall and having to constantly say, oh yeah, I got deferred. Then again, if I got rejected I’d feel like a total loser too because a lot of kids from my school typically get accepted and barely anyone gets rejected EA.

I promised everyone at work that I would buy them Jimmy Johns if I got accepted. So at least if I get rejected I won’t have to spend ~$50 on sandwiches.

I already got deferred at another school so honestly, I’m getting used to the feelings of are you kidding me/why me?/ugh now I have to wait even longer. At least if I get deferred I still have a sliver of hope to wow them with senior year grades & send in more recommendations.

I think that they all carry similar weight. A Duke adcom told me that there are six things they consider: GPA (the specific number doesnt matter with so many scales, they look at the individual grades in all classes), Test Scores, Class Rigor, Essays, ECs, and Recs. She said that all six are weighted very close to each other but that GPA is the most important by a little and that Test Scores are the least important by a little. Then again, Duke isn’t U of M. I would guess U of M is more heavy on Test Scores because its so large. I would think that Recs are given less importance than ECs and Essays by a little, especially because only 1 is required.
