** Official Class of 2017 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

welp, i’m officially scared ****less

Chill… lol

I’d like to know why they said they would release decisions for some schools as early as 3 today when they had no intentions if doing it.

Sorry I don’t mean to sound harsh I just got my hopes up and I find michigans admissions process really irritating.

They didn’t say they would, they say they might… Probably just in case, I’m sure they have some sort of program to send them out in batches and maybe it wasn’t ready like they thought. It’ll be okay :)

@hergie10

where did they say that they “might” start sending them out today??

In the email they sent to counselors.
“Due to your high school profile, your school takes priority and some students will begin receiving decisions as early as Thursday at 3pm EST.”
This could mean a total of 5 students for all we know, and the email also said that the rest will start to be released tomorrow and pan out through the remaining days until the 24th. Only time will tell!

@hergie10 that probably means in state schools haha.

This entire process is freaking me out so much… hopefully I’ll know the answer by tomorrow, as well as the rest of us!

Just checking, but does everyone have the link to University Housing on their Wolverine Access? I don’t remember seeing it before, but I don’t think I was paying that close attention until today.

^It’s always been there as far as I can remember.

I think the housing link has been there, soxpatsfan113. :C

My counselor got the email and she said they’re releasing tomorrow.

I’ve heard that over qualified students are often rejected as the admission officers feel that they will not accept even if they were offered. (ie. they predict these students will gain admissions to Ivy’s etc…)

Is this true?

can someone assess my chances

Not so much “rejected” as “deferred” - last year, during EA decision period, I only ever saw one person get flat-out rejected at all. Yeah, a lot of hyper-qualified students get deferred, though. I think they want to wait it out and see what other decision the kids make, but I can’t be sure.

No, it’s not necessarily true. That has been confirmed. However, if a student produces generic or hastily written essays and doesn’t show any interest in the school, the readers can guess that he or she will not attend even if he or she gets in.

quick, I think you’re in. You might have to explain the whole Michigan State stuff though, probably won’t look too good :)

I’m dying… Literally one of the biggest things in my life is whether or not U of M accepts me…

Oh dear god

I have a Psychology test run by the single most difficult teacher in the entire school tomorrow, and by no means will I be in a fit state to actually TAKE it. :(

@Sapharodon Yeah I can’t focus on any of my homework at this point. This is just too stressful. :/
