Well speaking from personal experience, I took the ACT three times. By the 3rd go-around, I basically had the formula down which allowed me to narrow almost every question down to a couple of options without doing much work.

@cadyheron On Tuesday’s we wear pink. Nice username. Are you a mathlete?

Maybe take Friday afternoon off, and not come back to finish them up until January.

The fact is, they have a captive audience. They have a great product, and we want it. Even if they do that, I will be here waiting like the sheep that I am when they come back in January.

12-3 is probably their holiday party tbh.

If you get into Michigan, are you going there for sure? Question for everyone in here. I know I am, even though I applied to a few other elite schools for RD. No Ivy League for me. I’m not bohemian enough.

There are basically 3 possible ways this will occur:

Friday - The office closing is interesting, and, if they are done, it will stick with the format of previous years.

Saturday - The 24th. - Most likely scenario.

The 24th. - If they need to wait this long they will, but I doubt that they want to work on Christmas Eve.

@BottomCat

Definatly. I’ve already been accepted into FSU and MSU, and am waiting to hear back from Edinburgh and Kings College London, but if Michigan accepts me, I’m going there.

Regardless of cost. I’ll just take a loan, I know I’ll earn the money back.

i feel like they are aiming for Friday but if they can’t get it done in time, they don’t want to have locked themselves in to any date and have angry parents and students calling.

@detroitnr1

Me too.

I have yet to hear back from Duke, Northwestern, and UNC, but Michigan is my number one.
I did RD at Marquette, EA at MSU, and EA at Cass Western as safeties.
MSU and Cass have made really tempting offers, but I just don’t feel like they’ll be as big of a return on my investment as Michigan.

@allforthebest nah i quit senior year. winning the quiz bowl once was good enough.

and Thursday!!!

Legit just created an account so I could ask this question.

I know I’m really late with this, but is it bad that I never got an Early Action confirmation email from Michigan? Under Notification Plan Status in the “View Application” tab it says that I’m “Early Decision - Qualified.” Does that mean that my application is considered EA?

I know it’s too late to do anything now, but it’d be nice to know…

@startwithm what are you talking about? haha

i feel like the 3 hours they spend closed on friday could be a meeting. they could be meeting to discuss among all the officers how far along they are and whether they are ready to send them that friday or later.

@notsalinger yes.

@pillagerguy thanks. All these posts were making me really paranoid.

Yo legit question. Does anyone who had a 3rd letter of reccomendation have that show in their application credentials?

Keep empathy in your heads, guys. The UM Admissions office is just as stressed as we are. Imagine preparing for something like any other years and then being told you have 136% of the work you had last year (the previous record). They’re treating their hair out, too.
I know we all want our decisions, but let’s refrain from letting this show negatively on Michigan - AKA let’s stress away from adjectives like “pathetic” and “ridiculous”. They’re trying their hardest, and their only promise seems still to be planned.

As far as schools go, Michigan WAS my number one choice… Now I’m unsure… It’s a fantastic school, but now I’ve got a full ride at Central Mich (also a good school) and a spot in their Honors College. If I’m accepted to UM, I have a tough choice to make.

Thursday is the day I’ve heard through teachers with admission reader friends (with Friday, but still) as to when decisions will be released–and also that they’ll be in random waves so the first will just be tomorrow. Maybe I believe it to keep things on a day-to-day basis, but still.
