deferred ED and now rejected, but i got into BROWN so i’m pretty happy. congratulations to everyone who got in!
stay strong, all you waitlisted people (i know how much it sucks, i got deferred and felt like my world was going to end. then i got over it.)
rejected and waitlisted people, other schools are waiting for you with OPEN ARMS. don’t get too down! (and if columbia was your top choice, there’s always grad school.)

To be quite honest, your URM status had probably given you a substantial boost in admissions. Nevertheless, you should still feel proud and just might end up being one of those lucky few being admitted from the waiting list!

General Comments, status update dates: I got rejected from all the private schools that I applied to but then again they were all reaches (Ivies) except for USC, which was supposed to be my match (even high match, nearing reach). I got accepted into UC San Diego, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. I am leaning towards UCLA right now but Cal might give me scholarships and seem to be really, really interested in me (calling me, inviting me to apply to Cal scholarships, etc.)

I got waitlisted at Barnard, but admitted into Columbia. I also got into Tufts, Wesleyan, and Wellesley…the only problem with Columbia is that its WAY too close to home for me, but the allure of the ivy league might get me.
