Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

<a href=“2018 Ivy League Admissions Statistics | Ivy Coach”>http://theivycoach.com/2018-ivy-league-admissions-statistics/

Harvard actually admitted a fairly large percentage early last year (21%), compared to what they admitted RD (3.5%). Cornell admitted 27.7% ED last year and 12.3% RD, their lowest so far.

the 1/3 is specifically for Cornell

meaning at cornell, 1/3 accepted, 1/3 deferred, and 1/3 rejected

@manas1997‌ Oh, ok. Sorry for the misunderstanding

We’re one day closer to Dec 11!!

one day closer to opening this link
https://decision.applyyourself.com/fl_login.aspx?id=cornellu

^ ahhhh, we are now single-digit days away from opening that link

In a weird way, submitting other applications makes me feel a little less anxious about Cornell… Just eases my vulnerability of being rejected. Anybody feel the same way?

what day should we receive official confirmation from Cornell that the decision date is the 11th?

I can’t believe that the results of what we have been working toward our whole life will be revealed in a few days.

yep, i feel less stressful with my uchicago EA.

What is something you guys are most proud of doing in your high school career?

For me personally, as I look back on these past 17 years, the thing I am most proud of is adjusting to a new way of life unlike the former one I had for 15 years. My move from the north to the south really opened my eyes as to who I am and shaped who I’ve become.

*Also making an A in AP Econ (45 day class) is up there on the list of my proudest accomplishments in high school :))

Even though a lot of people complain about Cornell’s location, I think Ithaca would be a great place to spend 4 years learning if one is accepted. Most Cornellians will work in cities and studying in Ithaca would be a great experience.

Ignoring the rumors surrounding Ithaca’s wilderness and actually visiting Cornell. Definitely one of the best choices I’ve made these past four years.

RE: CAAAN Informative Sessions: We live in the greater Chicagoland area and on the day before Thanksgiving, my daughter received this email below. She did email him back right away and has not heard back from him as of yet. I’m sure she probably won’t at this point since the contact was made late. According to other comments on this thread, CAAAN volunteers had a Dec. 1 date to get back to admissions, so if this is true, then we are past that date now.

Greetings

My name is XXXXXX and I am a graduate of Cornell University and a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network. I understand that you have applied to Cornell University Early Decision, and, on behalf of the Chicagoland Cornell alumni, I wanted to congratulate you on your decision to apply and to wish the best of luck in the application process.

The University Admissions Office has asked me to contact you to see if you have any questions or concerns. Unlike other colleges, Cornell does not require students to have alumni interviews as part of the application process. In fact, alumni contacts are non-evaluative and are not formally considered in admissions decisions. Instead, they are designed to address your questions and concerns and to allow you amplify aspects of your application.

Because you have applied Early Decision, I presume that you already have had many of your questions answered. That being said, I am more than happy to try to address any concerns that you still have. If you would like, I will try to set up a time when a local alumnus/alumna can meet with you to discuss Cornell. On the other hand, do not feel that these communications are mandatory. They will not have a bearing on the Early Decision process.

Meanwhile, because I am writing this just before Thanksgiving, I urge you to take the time to enjoy your family over this holiday period. I know it’s hard to imagine, but next year, no matter where you attend college, will be different. Take a few moments over the next few days to drink in your time together with your family.

If you are interested in a CAAAN contact, please contact me via e-mail, at XXXXX

Best of luck to you and I look forward to hearing from you.

9 days!

How do we know that it’s December 11th???
