Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

@desie1 how much earlier do ILR notifications generally come out? I’m just wondering if I should be keeping an eye out next week or three weeks from now…Thank you!

Imagine how much easier this process would be if all schools let you submit last year’s taxes. So much unnecessary stress could be avoided. Tax form that was supposed to arrive by the end of Feb didn’t arrive. :confused:

Hi guys! I didn’t apply ED to Cornell because at the time of applying, I wasn’t sure if it was my first choice. Now, it’s my #1 choice.

I know it’s March, but is there anything else I can do to let the school know that I will attend if they let me in? I can’t really visit because I live in the West Coast. Thanks!

Is there anyone whose supplemental materials are showing up on your online application portal?

I guess there should be a green check mark next to “Other (Any category not listed above)” by now since more than two weeks have passed already.

@cakeandtears Sorry, I don’t know. I’m not that familiar with Cornell’s policies. I just remember from the last two years that even though “Ivy Day” is when all Ivy applicants find out their results (at 5pm), there were some Cornell students (ILR/Hotel) who heard earlier. (and of course, students who get likely letters also hear earlier) You can check last year’s posts to see when students got their decisions.
It’s funny that they all release at the same moment during regular decision because in the early decision rounds, the Ivy’s don’t even coordinate the day that they are posting decisions.

Do we get an email saying like “check your application status”?

@ineversleep‌ Yes, we do :slight_smile:

@desie1 The reason Ivies send their likely letters is all about trying to get their top tier students to enroll to their colleges by letting them to know the decision earlier. Since ED applicants already have strong mindset where to go and have only one option when they are accepted, Ivies don’t need to bother sending out likely letters to prevent top tier students from going to other Ivies.

@kohwalsh Yes, I am aware of that. What I was trying to express is that I think it’s strange that in the regular decision round, all IVY’s release together. But in the early decision rounds, every IVY picks their own date of release. I wasn’t referring to the likely letters - but maybe I wasn’t clear in what I wrote.

@kohwalsh

Common sense dictates that the other is referring to SAT Subject Tests, because it is under the heading SAT Subject Tests…I doubt they show supplemental materials, if you submitted them you just have to assume they were received, no way to check

The fact that I applied to Cornell over 5 months ago (deferred ED) seems so crazy

@jamesjunkers That’s pretty crazy! I hope I get into Cornell, cause it became my number 1 choice in December, so I was only a month off from applying ED. I applied for Philosophy, and I hope that improves my chances a bit (not the reason why I applied to philosophy, cause I like the subject a lot).

Cornell’s website said that they would send decisions early April, but I see that the Ivy League decision date is March 29th or something. No idea which one is right.

March 31st

Does anyone know when ILR decisions will come out?

@jamesjunkers Thanks!

I was accepted to cornell today via a letter in the mail

Princeton will release decisions on the 27th (Admission Notification Dates 2015 thread), so does that make Ivy day the 27th instead of the 31st?

@Peezus‌ were you ILR?

@Peezus congratulations! Can you elaborate just a bit on which school you were accepted to (Hotel or ILR, most likely?) Are you a URM perhaps? Good luck at Cornell if you attend. In addition, were you a deferred ED applicant and is your decision available on your Cornell portal?

Directly from the Cornell website: “*The School of Hotel Administration and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations will begin decision notification as early as the beginning of March.”

*See Page 2 of this link. Credit to someone from the Hotel thread for finding this. Has anyone else heard back and would anyone confirm that traditionally ILR/Hotel only send acceptances this early and wait until Ivy Day for rejections? Good luck to everyone applying.

@cakeandtears I applied RD to ILR. I am not a URM, actually asian lol. I got my decision via a letter in the mail, no portal access as of right now. heres some of my stats if you guys are curious.
