***Official Dec 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

I asked my SAT tutor about that question, and she seems to think it’s attitude…of course, she could be wrong, but she agrees with my line of reasoning that there’s nothing about the setting that needs to be ‘clarified,’ since the answer choice was something about ‘clarifying the setting.’

@Woandering‌ right, i completely agree with you

@gianthawk‌

It’s possible, but unlikely. There are some people who say the CR isn’t too hard, but I’m definitely hoping for a -2 800.

@swimguy1234‌

A lot of people earlier in this thread are saying 3 NEs, but I can’t remember how many I put.

@Woandering‌ have you always been scoring in the 2200+??? I have a friend that took their first practice test sophmore year scoring a 2000 and i was like ‘holy f***’

@thegrant‌

Well, I took a SAT in 8th grade and got a 1800 .-. so no I’m not always scoring in the 2200+. I treated my Sophomore year test like my last one, because I wanted it to be my last one, so I got a 2210. I think most Sophomores just think they’re ahead of everyone else and can lay back OR they’re just not there in terms of knowledge. I read a lot, so CR and W was naturally around 700 for me, and I’m generally better at math in school.

If you study hard, as if you were a junior or even a senior, and you know everything you need to know (grammar rules, most not all vocab, and the 3 years worth of high school math) then you could quite easily get a 2300+.

@Woandering‌ 2210 as a sophmore holy s*** …the smartest seniors in my school (out of a class f500) usually score around 1800-190, and then there are a few who score around 2100 — but never like a 2300 omg lol

@Woandering‌ I live in NY and didnt even know what the SAT was until I was a sophmore in high school LOL

@thegrant‌

Haha definitely not your fault. I’m surrounded by Asians, and I came to America for the sole purpose of getting into a better college. I was practically forced into this in 8th grade, when a counselor planned out my high school career. (By the way, not following that plan anymore because individuality.)

@Woandering‌ that is so hardcore omg your going to HYP lol

@thegrant‌

Lol I wish. Rejection stories on CC are scary.

EDIT: And of course, I only read those because what could be more motivating?

@Woandering‌ how have you stuck with a goal for that long lol I cant imagine being in 8th grade and studying for the SAT and then, keep on studying for it up until senior year the dedication is crazy lol

@thegrant‌
Lol no I just forget about it until I need to take the test again. I usually study for about 2 months before the test.

I’m a Junior btw.

@Woandering‌ holy f*** i thought u were a senior omg ur gonna get a 2400

@thegrant‌

Lol nah, this is the last time I’ll be taking it anyway. I’m sick of studying SAT and burned out.

What grade ar eu?

I never took an SAT until I after I took the PSAT, though I took a few PSAT practice tests prior to that. I didn’t really know how I would do on the SAT (took it in May), but I was shooting for greater than 1960 since that was the usual cutoff for NMF. (I had made my state cutoff for NMSF by the skin of my teeth.) I got a 1950 my first try (2000 not scoring the essay.) I studied some more throughout the rest of the year, mainly the math because that was the score I needed to raise, and retook it in November. I got a 2030 (2050 not scoring the essay), but my math score only went up 10 points. (That darn curve…) Funny part was, I gained 50 points in CR but I scarcely studied that at all. At any rate, I’m calling it quits with the SAT. My score should be high enough to get me to Finalist, and the colleges I’m considering don’t care if I’m in the 2300 club. Congrats to all of you with the brain capacity to quibble about “better” 2300+ superscores! You’re all fantastic. Good luck.

@Woandering‌ IM A SENIOR THIS WAS TECHNICALLY MY LAST SAT LOL BUT SINCE SCORES COME OUT ON THE 23RD I HAVE UNTIL THE 27TH TO DECIDE IF I AM SATISFIED WITH MY SCORE OR TO REGISTER FOR JANUARY SAT LOL –

If its not a 2030 at least than i register for the January SAT i hate my life ughhh 8 days 12 hours til scores come out

Oh, don’t hate your life. College can only be an improvement, right? :-bd

Do you mean 2030 or 2300?

@thegrant‌
Ooh good luck! Focus on your finals though. Grades matter too!

@albert69‌ 2030! I think i said this at one point on this forum,but my friend smokes so muchpot and he got a 2020 and always makes fun of how he beat me my just smoking pot the night before the SAT, so its been my goal to get at least a 2030 on the SAT. And noooo I am not aiming for a 2300… (though that would be awesome!) Im going to art school so i dont think i’ll NEED a 2300 lol — I think on this SAT i scored somewhere between 2000-2100 but maybe im wrong… lol

@thegrant‌

Oh interesting. What colleges are you considering for art, and what kind of art do you like best? My friend is considering art in college (she’s amazing).
