I’ve grown up into STEM lol, but I really like the Social Sciences now. What STEM programs are you looking at? I’d like to apply to some, but nothing sounds super interesting, except for a Number Theory program that I’m probably too dumb for.

@Woandering Thank you for the encouragement but I would absolutely die if I ever broke a 1900 - 2000. I know that is nothing compared to 99% of other fricking genius peeps on this site but hey, expectations are different for everyone. And animals are great but poop, not so much.

Go for it! Problem for me is that I’ll never want to go into research (despite loving STEM) or neuroscience, or astrophysics or whatever so many of the summer programs are for. I’ll probably still apply to that number theory one I was talking about, but that’s about it for STEM.

@LOLHELPME

You’re on this site though. Most people on here are usually fairly well-prepared and forward planning. I’m fairly sure that everyone on here will do fairly well.

@bazz2203 could you tell us what you got for 1) attitude vs setting on Alice’s birthday passage and 2) if you remembered getting “which” as an error, or if that question was no error.

I took the december test but I canceled it last minute…
I thought that the reading was pretty challenging, and I had wanted to increase my reading score from last time

@LOLHELPME, I’m on here and I’m quitting the SAT with my best score being a 2030. I’m not anywhere near as hardcore as these 2300+ nuts on here trying to make it to 2400 (yes, I mean you, @bazz2203), and it shows. It’s a matter of perspective. For what I want, my scores are good enough, so I’m happy. Just do the best you can and make the best of it.

And I’m not bashing people who try and can achieve the phenomenal scores; I think that is awesome - just something I couldn’t do.

One of my teachers did just enough on the SAT and napped for the rest of it because he knew exactly where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do, and he didn’t need a very high SAT. I think it’s actually incredibly brave of you guys to know what you want and follow your own dreams.

I respect your perspective, and your absolutely right. Your scores are very good. Its just that I worked very hard, and I don’t want it to go in vein.

Brave, @Woandering? Thanks. For me it’s more disinterest - I have better things to do with my life than sit around studying for a standardized test, like trying to get my pilot’s license (and I’m not kidding about that, I really am.)

Many people (perhaps me included) will keep at it out of fear. I tend to agree with you. This is my second recorded SAT, and it’ll be my last no matter what. (However, I might try the ACT if I get a below 2300 to try something different). I also believe that 1) there are more important things to do (for me other standardized testing lol SAT2s and APs, but also learning to program with Raspberry Pi) and 2) studying for SAT is insanely boring after one test.

I was merely saying that a high SAT score isn’t essential to success.
