***Official Dec 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

@Woandering‌ 5 days 12 hours 54 minutes bro lol watch me get a 1990 and contemplate my life

@thegrant Life isn’t over after SAT lol. But yeah same here. Missing targets by 10 points is awful.

Someone with a 1900 SAT got accepted into Princeton, unless he’s trolling. But yeah, that happened.

@Woandering‌ whats your opinion on URM??? I think its stupid how a kid that could be raised up by hispanic or black parents(and possibly have a degree) be looked at better than another white or asian person (and possibly have a degree).

I dont see why URM’s are given an edge in the application when plenty of them have rich parents-- and even then, if a college is need blind in the admissions process than how will they know if your rich or not? (I have a hispanic friend who’s dad drives a ferrari, and another friend who is hispanic and i know they struggle to pay rent each month)

Do you think URM only really applies to low income first gen URM’s???

@thegrant‌

Pretty sure URM only really applies to low income first gen. EDIT: sorry not first gen. just low income URMs.

IMO college admissions should ignore race, gender, and income level completely. The problem isn’t at college; it’s at elementary school. We shouldn’t be allowing underqualified URMs into higher level schools, where they might even struggle.

Of course, at Harvard, the URMs are generally qualified. Most top schools are like this, so URM isn’t too much of a problem. Yes, being a URM gives you the edge, but it’s only problematic at the top schools, and you’d have to be already qualified. I hate it, but it’s out of my control, and it’s not exactly unfair (diversity), so basically accept it.

I’m as Asian Male, so this race and gender thing really sucks.

@Woandering‌ im an asian dude too! Do you know if there are any asians that arent seen as super-mart-2400-geniuses?

Like, per se… would a Vietnamese first gen look better than a Chinese first gen??? Or is it just looked at like “both of these kids are asian.”? lol

@thegrant‌

If the adcom is smart enough to recognize Vietnamese names from Chinese names, or if you make sure that fact is in your app, then maybe. Generally, all Asian nations have stricter parents. Generally.

And I do know asians that aren’t smart.

That feel when your writing a 10 page research paper for ap english the day before its due…

Less than a week to go…

@thegrant I know that feel

4 days 18 hours 7 minutes…

@thegrant what do you think you got

@APScholar18‌ I am hoping for a 2000 at the bare minimum — but im thinking around a 2050! hbu!!!

@thegrant‌

How’s the countdown?

@Woandering‌ 4 days8 hours 29 minutes!

@thegrant‌

Time moves too slow. One more final left then I can sleep until results day.

@Woandering‌ how do you have finals??? i thought finals were at the end of the year??

@thegrant‌

We have two finals, both at the end of each semester. Your school might call it something different, or a different calendar from us.

@Woandering‌ oh we call them mid terms — i was so confused lol

@thegrant I am unsure but I am hoping for the best!
