<p>@canunot yes. Also you’re probably right for clarify setting (though I put attitude). If anyone feels like it look up The Ropewalk by Carrie Brown, go to the Amazon page and press “Look Inside”. It’s the very opening (another reason why it’s probably to clarify setting).</p>

<p>@canunot that’s what I got for the short passages. For the Jazz one, did you say that the passages differed because one stated a point and supported it while the other stated a problem and provided a solution?</p>

<p>@ashgabat you should look up the book online. 1) It’s the very beginning of the book so it seems like it clarifies setting–the date, it’s her birthday 2) she isn’t necessarily happy BECAUSE it’s her birthday. we’re inferring that. so clarifies setting is (probably) more directly supported in the text. I wish we could ask college board about questions like these.</p>

<p>There was a sentence completion that was about someone doing different things becasue he/she didn’t want… and the answers were commercialism and categorization. It was like no. 2.
