ok, I think it is attitude. Look at the last sentence that says, " Any moment now…" The next sentence says it’s her birthday. The author says that so we know why she is feeling the way she is feeling…The author is not clarifying the setting ( he did an excellent job of painting that image for us). What he is doing is explaining why he says the last 2 sentences, which reveal her anticipation…

@Castigations
I think it’s one of the choices you didn’t list.

@wowowowsa
Perhaps, but the others were worse choices.

@allista mrp :3
@fireonice I think my logic on this question was similar to what @Woandering has posted.

There were so many questions in the CR that I second guessed and changed lol. It was oddly enough harder than usual. Hopefully since I only got 1-2 vocab wrong that It won’t bring me too far down

The choice with serendipity as the second word was correct

@Woandering wait that’s a good point…did it explicitly say CLARIFIES or FURTHER clarifies setting from 1st paragraph? If it was clarifies setting in GENERAL, then I still stand by my case. But if it says further clarifies 1st paragraph, we may have an argument now…

@Castigations Can confirm with the serendipity.

Yeah, im hoping i get like how i did with with the psat. I honestly expected to get a 210 but ended up pulling out a 228. I thought i missed like 6 on reading but only missed 2. I hope this is the case for me again.

@Woandering because it’s true that the May date and the birthday thing doesn’t exactly relate to the first paragraph. Though you could argue that it relates because it explains her attitude so like the setting helped explain attitude…aghhh they seriously both seem to work I don’t know

@fireonice
Not sure what it said, but for both, I still stand by my argument. If you say it clarified, what did it clarify, in terms of setting?

Unless the first paragraph raised a question or issue about the setting, there’s nothing to clarify.

The sentence completion about some scientist finding something was serendipitous for the second blank, right?

@fireonice I believe it was further clarifies or something, because I didn’t even remember “[somethings] the setting” as an answer choice until it was brought up here xD

I feel like the CR curve won’t be that harsh; some of the questions were tricky. -2 is most likely still going to be an 800.

I screwed up writing this time though. hopefully the graders like my essay.

@gourmand
Yes.

@gourmand Yep that’s what @castigations was referring to.

@allista
Same feelings exactly.

Ok guys well I truly hope it’s explain her attitude because that was my response too. On the november thread from last year I think I saw majority setting, and quite a few people from here too.

Well, if that is so, based off what I’ve seen through these “controversial questions” here are my score predictions:

CR: -1 or -2
Math: -0
Writing: -1 or -2, 10 to 11 essay.

So

@allista would you mind sharing (or PM) what you got wrong in writing? I haven’t gotten any wrong so far but we haven’t talked about many so idk…For example, what did you put for the “in which” one

@fireonice let’s all pray for each other, since everyone here seems to have picked explain her attitude.
