<p>just from what ive heard, Reed sounds like an incredibly awesome place, not just for its quirks, but also for its great environment. im considering whether or not i should go to the Reed Activity days.
only thing is my father seems entirely opposed to my going to Reed. so even if i do go and fall in love with the place. it may all be a complete waste.</p>
<p>what do you think. worth it?
and how do i convince my dad that Reed is a worthwhile investment?</p>
<p>im not too familiar with the school, but what attracted me to it was the lack of die-hard competition (meaning people apply because they want to go, and not because the school is among the top 5 in college ranking charts) and its aura of integrity, identity, composure, and hippie-down-to-earth-ness that i really could not find anywhere else. these things obviously dont factor in too well with my dad’s mindset. but, if im not mistaken, reed also has an excellent academic record. its probably just too well-kept of a secret. would anyone care to enlighten me a bit?</p>
