Absolutely, iamjes. I’d say it’s worth it. If your dad’s skeptical about Reed’s academic credentials, there’s tons of information you can show him, because frankly the quality of education at Reed is right up there with the country’s most prestigious schools—and, because of it’s size and atmosphere, you’ll actually be able to get to know your professors, not just their TAs like at many of those schools.

Reed’s [about page](<a href=“About Reed - Reed College”>About Reed - Reed College) has a wealth of information, but here are a few things you can mention. People often think that Reed is a mediocre school because of how it ranks in, for example, U.S. News and World Report. But it ranks poorly there because it objects to the rankings as oversimplifications and has refused since 1995 to submit its statistics. There’s a page on that here. Also, Reed has a stellar record in the production of PhDs in various disciplines—you can see those stats here. It’s also produced the second highest number of Rhodes scholars from a liberal arts college. Basically, if you want to show your dad some very impressive facts about Reed’s quality, you’ll find a wealth of them here.

I’d go on, but it’s way late and I’m going to go to bed. But good luck swaying your dad, and maybe I’ll see you at RAD.
