Two weeks is typical. I’ve seen students who are super excited about their ED admission withdraw all their other apps the same day.
At some schools, yes. Popular public flagships like UMich, GaTech*, Purdue and UMD have all moved their decision dates to late January. They are aware a lot of ED applicants apply to them in addition to their top choice, and therefore wait for ED admitted students to withdraw their apps.
Other schools may not wait, and will release decisions in early January. At these schools withdrawing apps won’t make a difference.
Emory - Dec 15th. However, someone (quest bridge scholar) on reddit has said they got an email where emory claimed ed1 decisions would drop on December 13th. Emory has also previously released ed1 decisions on the wednesday before the 15th, but no real source confirming emory will do such again.
i have not seen anything from Emory specifically so would like to know your source. historically, they send an email on Monday the week of the decision release which is usually Wednesday at 6pm EST (so that would be Dec 13 next week) - but i have not seen anything official this year as of yet.
