12 hours baby!!!

Good luck guys!

You’re right in generalizing so Katy but Columbia has an extraordinarily high proportion of international students so I would imagine the gap between internationals and domestics is smaller here. To be sure, I agree that it’s bound to be appreciably lower but not as much as MIT (which, it should be mentioned, is an outlier when discussing international student admissions because just so many of them try applying there)

Stay Positive People!

good luck columbia EDers!!

-from Cornell EDers

thanks sgilman!! 9 hours 46 minutes to go! it’s the home stretch people, we’ll make it out alive!

@srrinath
Yes, I guess Columbia has a smaller gap between Internationals and domestic. And because we’re ED, it’ll be somewhat higher. Let’s hope it exceeds Regular domestic percentage:)

Today…D-Day

@Katy3028: It will if you didn’t apply for aid. If you didn’t apply for aid, you get the same admissions rates (generally speaking) as domestics (who have their need-blind policy).

That’s good to hear, really hope those who didn’t apply for aid get in:) But I applied full aid, so maybe that equals regular rates, no FA? Ah, who cares…7hrs, 45minutes…:)

Mhm. Bored. Weeeeeeeee.

redcatharsis where are u from?

@RedCatharsis: are you international?

@yescolumbia: you?

thankfully it’s nighttime here in singapore. i’ll be asleep pretty much from now till when i get the decision

35: am AUST> time. … sleepp… i guess soon. after i watch another movie haha

srrinath, are you staying awake until 6? Or sleeping first and waking up at 6? Or sleeping normally till 8+? Haha I don’t think I CAN sleep.

dudes…this will suck if we dont get in… i am 100% going to hate finishing apps >.< and seriously with Upenn!..who do they think they are asking super specific essay questions? while other ivys ask something like “tell me more about urself” type questions.

@kthanksbye: I’m watching shows for a while, and sleep till about 7. Hopefully that way, I’ll avoid the 6am heavy traffic. how about you?

I’ll probably try to sleep normally. Good luck to you. Hopefully Columbia will be kind to Singapore applicants. =)

@kthanksbye: Know any other Singapore applicants to CC (other than themerlion and myself)? And good luck to you and Lucy_Lee for SEAS!

Nope. If I remember correctly, Alice Huang (the admissions official who came down to RJC to give a regional presentation) said that Columbia doesn’t get a ton of ED applicants from Singapore, so here’s hoping competition isn’t too severe.
