@columbia14: yup, that’s when you get the shirts

haha i like the preoccupation with the dang shirts

i can’t wait that long for them. i’m ordering some from ivysports:)

I got into Columbia ED, but I regret applying ED. Oxford wanted me… But it’s okay. And yeah, not looking forward to the whatever days on campus…Shirts…ehh, fair to say thats a great Christmas Present…but, still, they should get some catered food and salmon, as appetizers, at least. A freaking rich instituition, worth 5.7 billion, making me pay 57k a year, all they can do is pay for shirts…Well, Columbia, thanks for the magnificent wool shirts (they’re cotton, with fruit of the loom tags, btw)…

Collegeconf…whoever u are…SEAS sucks. “Hi, I’m Seas. I am going to study about the wonders of physics and chemical engineering, so that in the near future I am the one to bring about change in the scientific industry…and yeah…I will do things that make my mere 2370 score truthful…pompous are we Mr. Collegeconf?” Well, I dislike you…Watch when I see you in the halls of mudd, and if I happen to see you writing a paper in Butler, oh my god, will hell break loose? YES INDEED!

Dreamingawake…you are a good person at heart. As the refrain goes in Rousseau’s Social Contract, “man intend for the public good…,” it seems that you have been closely adhering to this quote…and for that, I commend you.

To the deferred nation: Opportunities are to be seen as a zero game, keep your head up during these difficult times. I stand here boldly, as an applicant…inductee of the college, and I dont know what being rejected feels like…but deep inside…I want to hug everyone of you for even leaving the boundaries of the common APP!!

sdotboogz…i thought you can breach the ED contract if you don’t attend any other college IN THE UNITED STATES?
doesnt that mean you can still go to oxford?

sdhotbogz, why regret? You’re set for the year. You’ll love it, come hell or high water.

And I want free shirts too!

sdot: you seem like a bright kid, so I want to respond as an alum to you.

Oxford is a crap ugrad experience compared to Columbia in the middle of NYC. And this is from experience at Oxford and with friends who graduated from there. The tutorial schema is not really supportive of broad-based learning and interdisciplinarity. The colleges can keep you happy for awhile, but there is only so much the English countryside can do for someone coming into their own.

In any case, if you need some more columbia love than a wool shirt, PM me, I’ll give you the lowdown on how to make your money worth it. I had probably the most incredible time in college, I’m still amazed I was able to do all that I did.

Lastly, don’t be a jerk re: collegeconfid - s/he can say dumb things, doesn’t make it right to mock, if you’re gonna go for the jugular, make sure it doesn’t make you come across as arrogant on the other end.

000ace: no, that isn’t true. you can’t breach the ED contract because it specifically states on NACAC rules that you will attend this school - especially if you are going to a brit school. plus in what jurisprudence class have you learned that breaching a contract is possible, its why you sign one.

Hey guys…sorry I have a negative outlook on life…thanks for the support!!
