I’m not trying to attack the essay or anything (in fact this essay is probably better than what I can write haha) but is it just me or did that essay seem more like a report with a few opinions here and there than a personal essay?
The concluding pargraph has this sentence in it:

“Under this system, every individual is free to pursue whatever they want, as long as it harms no one, without needing to be concerned with paying bills”
Who would sweat their backs to grow your rice?

“As a future physicist, I hope to be able to work with economists to develop and implement algorithms that would allow an economy to be run entirely by computer – the only way to assuredly prevent corruption. At the very least, I would like to use an advanced degree to lend my arguments greater credence.”
Why physicist then? Why not economics, financial mathematics, computer science, or pure mathematics?

And somehow being a PhD in physics will make the citizens of America believe your comments about economics??
