jadey24. when did u applied. i havent heard anything. were you able to log in into the housing… CONGRATULATION!!!

have any CAS people heard anything? is CAS already sending out rejections per mail?

Can anyone give me the number from CALS. I would like to call and ask if my application is under review. My friend got accepted. He applied earlier than me. I haven’t heard anything yet. :/

To all CAS applicants, I called today, like about 10 minutes ago, and after looking up my name, they said that they have not reached a decision as of now and asked me to call again in a few days.

I guess they’re still not done with evaluating CAS applicants. Keeping my fingers crossed for now!

can anyone call CALS. please. :/

Why don’t you call instead of asking us to call? Then they can give you information that actually pertains to you.

ruxs23. huh. i called CALS. no answer.

Hi everyone I am new to this thread -

Today I sent an email to CALS (I havent heard ANYTHING in the past), and the person told me to email them my phone number and they will contact me once it is decided. They said in the email they are not done reviewing applications. clearly I cant read all 151 pages of this, but in the past is this bad news? I really dont want to be the one to have to call to get rejected.

Did anyone else apply to (or get accepted to) the Food Science major in CALS?

Rejected by ILR via snail mail today. I’m not too disappointed; I was pretty sure it was going to happen.

Right now I am deciding between NYU and UVA. Haven’t heard from Georgetown or Penn yet, but I’m not expecting much.

It was fun hanging out with you guys in this thread. Congratulations to those of you that were excepted.

I’ll leave with a quote from the Greek play writer Euripides: “The wisest men follow their own direction.”

Well guys, it’s been a long journey, but alas, mine ends here. I have been rejected. Surprisingly I am not nearly as devastated as I thought I’d be. I think I’m just relieved that this whole thing is over. I guess Cornell just wasn’t in the bigger plan for me and I accept that. Can’t argue with destiny! However, this doesn’t change my love for Cornell and best believe I will be applying there for grad school! lol. Best of luck to all of you. This is such a tremendous group full of wonderful people. This thread has literally been a saving grace for me throughout this difficult process. You will all do great regardless of where you end up!

@Greg and Miami, I’m so sorry to hear! You guys have both been such a great presence on this thread. Good luck with everything!

@AnotherShot11 thank you! I will be going to University of Miami and I’m fine with it. I love UM and it is a great second choice for me. I will get to be close to my family, friends, and boyfriend and that’s much more important than any school!

Rejected to CALS via snail mail today. I have a 3.7 gpa, phi theta kappa, a couple of academic awards, couple EC’s, research experience, and amazing recommendations. However horrible high school record.

@miami, im sooooo sorry!!! I was really rooting for you! However, I know you’ll do amazing wherever u end up!
but beyond that you’ll do amazing at life and will definitely make a difference in peoples lives.
@gregfields and everyone else whose gotten rejected, this isnt the end…its only the beginning
we are all going to conquer the world in our way and remember its not the distination that makes u who u are but rather all the experiences we are a part of along the way.

Its been truly a pleasure. For those of u still waiting good luck! I’ll update the list later tonight.

wait I dont get it - I was reading theres this “guaranteed transfer” thing

I took the required courses this semester and last, and have the minimum grade (B+ and A’s )

IS there still a way I can get rejected? like can someone explain to me the guaranteed part of the guaranteed transfer lol

Rejected to CALS.

@shoxjie It’s something that’s offered to certain applicants who apply to Cornell as freshmen. Instead of accepting, denying, or wait listing them, Cornell gives them an option to be a guaranteed transfer. After taking specific courses, maintaining a GPA, and applying as a transfer…they’re “guaranteed” a spot as a sophomore or junior under the program.

At least that’s my understanding :p

@shoxjie, your best bet is just to call the school and find out. I don’t think you automatically qualify as a GT if you take recommended classes and have good grades, since that basically qualifies everyone on this thread. There’s more to a GT agreement.

@anothershot, have ya called?
