@jasmine6 have any engineers been notified yet??

Still haven’t heard anything from mechanical engineering over here. Expecting a no though because Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, and Penn all denied me. I did however get into UCB, UCLA, UCSD, Cal Poly, … lol I want Cornell though!

has any engineer called to ask how decisions are coming along lately. I haven’t talked to them in like a month at least

I haven’t heard anything from chemical engineering unfortunately. I did hear back from penn which was a resounding no…ah well.

i havent heard chemical engineering as well

I called today to ask about a deadline and they checked the status of my app and said it is currently with an engineering admissions person. I sent in my app pretty much the day it was due though.

In general it’s a two-step process where the engineering school makes the initial decision and either sends a rejection letter right off the bat or your app gets forwarded to the individual department and they decide which of those applicants gets accepted to that major.

Yeah, Penn’s rejection letter was harsh! Cornell is my first choice anyway. I might call Engineering tomorrow and try to get us some more info.

Yeah same…the suspense is astounding!

@engineers so if we’ve not heard back yet that means we’ve made it to “round two” of the process??

Don’t think there are rounds for this process. Just gotta wait.

my friend who is a electrical and comp. engineering already got in. I however havent got anything. we are both from De Anza College.

@nghiemdo congrats to your friend! was your friend able to log into housing before getting the decision?

i dont think so

gotcha. did he get an email with the snailmail too? sorry for the questions i think people do want to know!

Haha I can’t believe i was admitted into The School of Hotel Admin at Cornell University. Im So blessed and honored. Please everyone keep there hopes up and remember anything is possible as long as you keep at it. I was denied for Spring 2012, so i re-applied for CALS but i later learned through email that i was accepted into the Hotel School.

P.S. I never graduated high school…

Well now I already know that the hotel school expected different things from its students… but come on now graduating high school should at least be a prerequisite.

Some people get their GED and go to Community College, so technically they did not graduate high school but it makes no difference because if you have a GED you “graduated” high school.

I stopped going to regular highs hook in the 11th grade. Took my highschool exit exam and got my diploma. Now I’m graduating from community college with an 3.8 gpa and my aa degree in business. High school wasn’t for everyone. If you think about it I’m still on time. I was suppose to graduate in 09 but I didn’t. 09 was also the year I started college like everyone else who did graduate which still makes me on and I will be graduating in 2015

Nice work!

Engineers!!! Have anyone of you heard back yet?
