hahah welshy thats probably the funniest thing I’ve heard all day…I was in class guys I wouldn’t abandon you guys haha. I don’t have a scanner so I can’t post a picture. I am definitely going no questions asked haha. Thanks for all the congratulations guys. Good luck to everyone. I’m rooting for all of you guys!

craintrain…can you explain your acceptance and like what it looked like and stuff??

Hey guys! Now that I know people have heard its making me soooo nervous! Did people really get email rejections today!? If so, I guess its a good sign nobody on here got one!

It was just like the regular letter and the reply card and some other paper that I have yet to look at lol

congrats craintrain!
was it in a small envelope?

It was indeed…the regular Georgetown letter

Hey everyone! Congrats to those who have been accepted! Im so excited, cant wait to find out! Who applied to SFS?

KEVINX–it was on one of the Cornell threads
perhaps that person sent G-town an email saying that they needed to know asap cuz they had another school waiting to hear back? I dunno…

i applied to SFS.

Wow, haven’t been on the site in forever. Anyway, to assuage some fears and give some insight I’ll post my info.

Got accepted as a transfer for Fall '09 today. The acceptance package was in a standard, first-class envelope, postmarked on April 29th. Three pages thick, with a return envelope as well. Significantly thicker than an envelope with only a single sheet. Outermost sheet was a blue “Information for Accepted Transfer Students” sheet, going over credit transfer, enrollment deposits, etc… Next sheet was the enrollment agreement. Innermost sheet was acceptance letter. Applied to MSB; am going to be a junior in the fall

Stats:
HS GPA: 3.4/4.0, top 15%
SAT: 770/800/750
Uni GPA: 3.95 at a marquee, though not top 5, public university (read: not UMich, Berkeley, UCLA, UNC, or UVA)
Essays: Not too bad, not too good
ECs: Personally don’t think they were too great; no great relationship with dean or profs
Hook: Scanned picture of my rejection letter from two years ago and sent it with my application. I framed it and have kept it with me for the past two years.

If I’ve learned one thing in my time at college, it’s that hard work really does pay off. Best of luck to all of you.

Good Morning! Craintrain…CONGRATS!!! I am so happy for you. Unfortunately, I was the person who rec’d her reject via e-mail (from my admiss counselor.) I persisted b/c I needed to make a decision. The good news is that I was accepted to Cornell- College of Humec!! I prayed to get accepted to either school.
I wish everyone the best of luck! Gtown is a phenomenal school!
Enjoy the weekend!

You mean you contacted them and asked for a decision early because you needed to make a decision and they gave it to you early?

Who did you contact?

Did you have to prove that you needed it early or did they just give it to you? I would think a lot of people would like to find out early.

My admissions counselor was Margaret Lysy. Try contacting admission 1st, find out your counselor, and contact them directly. Say you need to make a decision asap for another institution. They don’t need proof, just stress the importance ;0)
Good Luck!!! Let me know what happens

Just out of curiosity, anyone ever get rejected from say the SFS but accepted to the school of arts and sciences? I applied for SFS, is it possible I won’t get in there but will get in to GTown proper?

It is my understanding that if you get rejected from one school at Gtown, that they don’t transfer you over into a different pool. It doesnt even make sense why the admissions would reject somebody from SFS then transfer you into the College of Arts and Sciences. You applied to SFS, not the College.

yea, if you apply to SFS and they reject you, they won’t transfer your app to the college. even though they’re both within georgetown university, they’re two totally different schools.

i applied to SFS for sophomore standing. got into NYU yesterday but georgetown’s my top choice. hope that we (SFS applicants) find out soon…

So no one who applied to SFS has heard yet?

My friend received her acceptance letter from Georgetown college today. I am still waiting for SFS…do you guys know if they all come out at the same time or is SFS the last one to respond?
