Hope to keep it going. The more comments, the better for prospective students.

OO-I hear the students have a poor relationship with the professors at UCSD. No?

Lol, only if you don’t go to office hours. Just talk to the professors after class and talk with them on the way to their office. Effort is the key in that aspect. Some are pretty snobby since they tend to favor A students when building a good relationship with students.

OO-So you’re saying that if you are interested in the class and demonstrate that interest by going to office hours etc., the professors are attentive and nice?

UW-Madison

90

I love being in the city, the wide variety of classes and their level of difficulty, the sporting events and parties, and the people in general. The only con is I just don’t like being in school in general. Even back in kindergarten I hated going to school, but if I have to go somewhere, I’m glad it’s UW.

tokdoc- in my experience of my first year, every professor takes kindly to students who put in the effort and have a good attitude. There will be some bad eggs in the bunch of course. Shaking their hand after the final will mean more than you realize.

Northwestern. 94.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
90

Pros: Beautiful campus, motivated peers, top notch facility (Siebel blows my mind), accessible faculty, abundant research/recruitment opportunites

Cons: Dorm food is garbage. Ghettos around Urbana-Champaign makes you feel unsafe. Grade deflation within College of Engineering (average GPA is 2.8 for COE).
