Official Harvard 2011 Transfer Thread

Harvard is very serious about keeping the students they actually admit. I’m sorry if this seems callous, but if you had been admitted, they would have contacted you by phone, email, whatever they had to do to reach you. Go ahead and call, of course, but my guess is if you haven’t heard from them by now, you were not admitted. It is odd that you didn’t receive notification when decisions were originally released; sorry you have had to deal with all the extra stress that comes with these extensive waiting periods… I will keep my fingers crossed for you, but remember- if you weren’t chosen, it simply means that your unique talents are needed elsewhere. :)

For transfer admissions into schools such as Harvard, does coming from an already prestigious college such as a top 10 school help? Does having strong standardized test scores and records from high school help?

What the. Wow. This is rather ludicrous. Transfers have it pretty hard, then.

in case anyone hasn’t seen this statistic yet:

in their transfer rejection letter they said they made 12 offers of admission out of 1500 applications
