@entrebusecon Your ECs and whatnot seem really focused. Passion goes a long way in this process.

Soft factors are SO important in this process, like essays and recs. Don’t lose all hope yet. But I would be super super annoyed (but not resentful) if the valedictorian at my school decided to apply.

@pipsicle I can’t believe someone would do that honestly. And have all that effort and energy to devote to such an insignificant issue just wow.

I’m listening to the online Admissions Q&A… It’s true, they don’t say anything we don’t know but at least it helps me un-stress a bit. Plus it’s always nice to listen to the experience of current students

Last year’s thread only reached 92 pages… this year’s is 200+ already, so is a lot more people applying SCEA this year? I have a feeling that it will be even more competitive this year.

No, it doesn’t show in the portal. However, if you submitted it through Common App and your regular application was received, it would be unusual for them not to have your writing supplement, as well.

I’m also wondering why the email is at all necessary if it’s just on the portal. Why wouldn’t they just do what so many schools do and just have it up on the portal, and tell you to log into it to check your decision at 5 pm Dec. 11?

Oh well, guess we’ll find out in less than 2 days

Ah thank God, I was afraid because my submitted file on CA was slightly above 500kb when it was converted to PDF (lots of pictures). Hopefully it was received and read with no problems.

Well, I have nice dinner reservations booked for Friday. If I get in, it’ll be good icing on the cake. If I don’t get in, then it’ll at least be a good way to boost my spirits as I write supplements for seven more colleges.

The worst part about rejection probably wouldn’t be the rejection itself; it would be writing all those god-awful essays.

@shanethesemi Nope, 305 here cue Pitbull intro good luck to you though! I feel you on the financial aid btw : /
@entrebusecon Is it bad I already don’t like the other guy haha? What kind of person just casually asks when “our” deadline is without mentioning first he was also applying. I wouldn’t be too worried though, obviously he has been paying attention to you and your app. I bet you are more than qualified!

I think the worst part would be waiting four more months (whether rejected/deferred). Waiting one and a half was brutal. I won’t be able to wait to receive admissions decisions. I’ll go insane.
