@AuTurtle @galecollege sorry, forgot to mention that first I logged in here, clicking on the ‘student status page’
https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/application-process/application-timeline/email-notification
After that I typed the 6 number password from the old application portal and my surname. Then when I returned on the ‘admissions’ page, I saw ‘admitted sudents’ in the right upper corner.

@norsinboston it’s only birthdays for some odd reason. Sometimes it’s also phone numbers but only after she dials it on a phone. She makes up songs to memorize facts because it’s not as easy for her.

There is no portal for Harvard decisions. They will come out via e-mail. Yale and UPenn have portals that you have to go to, not Harvard. There will probably be an admitted students portal which you will given instructions on how to access. That’s where the admitted students Facebook page will be, etc.

@Tperry1982

That is how it used to be. At last night’s admissions google hangout they announced that the email will have a link to a portal and not say the decision in the email. Also they made the official announcement that results are out tomorrow at 5pm EST.

@Tperry1982: In the Harvard Admissions Google Hangout yesterday, an admissions officer said that we will receive an email tomorrow that has a link to a portal, and that we will log into that portal to receive our decisions. Do you think she misspoke? I was thinking that when H redesigned their portals, they changed the notification method.

Great - maybe now they realize that the Yale and UPenn way of doing it is better. Good luck to all of you!!

Everybody is trying the @MissDianaKhr thing, no doubt. Good luck everybody!!!

@MissDianaKhr How did you log in to the student status page?

@MissDianaKhr It just worked for me! I logged onto the student status page using my last name as the username and my 6 digit pin from the old portal as the password.

I see it says “admitted students,” but it doesn’t lead to anything. Probably meaningless unless there are people who don’t see it

@phenomenon923 I’ve requested the access code for the last year portal, that was a password to the status page.

@MissDianaKhr I see it also! I don’t think it really means anything about my specific decision though haha. Do you think this is the portal we’ll use to find out our decision?

@virago1 The pin I got in the email was 9 digits long… guess it doesn’t work?

Quick question: How strong of an indicator is success of past applicants from the same school? For example, assuming that 1-2 people get into Harvard every year, is it safe to assume that 1-2 people will get in this year from the school? I understand that every year the applicant pool changes and they compare us to other current applicants, not past applicants, but is past history a good indicator?

Also, if past applicants who have been admitted are of a different race, would this not apply?

@vigaro1 I’m glad to hear that:)
@boxofdonuts it didn’t lead me to anything too, but it exists for some reasons so maybe there’ll be our decisions tomorrow

@MissDianaKhr Okay thanks, that makes sense. :)

Every applicant do what MissDianaKhr posted and report back with results

@MissDianaKhr yes it works! – that will probably be where “it happens” tomorrow. Thanks!

Why would it say “admitted students” if that’s where our decision will be? It could just be a bug in the system or something

This works for me as well. I still can’t believe that tomorrow is the day, though.
