Everyone at my school makes a Facebook status about their first (or most important) acceptance. What I think is pretentious is when students update their status about each and every acceptance, making everyone else feel like crap.

@easycadence You said this like 7000 posts ago but my pro pic makes me hungry as well haha

I wish I was half-Nepalese half-Bulgarian…like a friend I have who will probably be applying next year. It males you so easy to remember to an adcom ;(

@karabekian ooh. I’ll see if that crosses her superstitious line quirks. If I knew it I would totall post it. Maybe tomorrow I’ll post her FB support page that she runs. It has lots of pics on there so I don’t know how she would feel about that. It’s public though so if you happen to look for an Emily with a cleft who can stop you right? Lol.

Do you guys think admissions officers read absolutely EVERYTHING in your application? I honestly am expecting a deferral/rejection tomorrow, but it would kind of bother me if I knew that my entire application wasn’t considered. Does anyone else feel this way? Both my common app essay and additional info used the entire word limit, and my supplemental essay was lengthy as well. Realistically, do you think admissions officers take the time to read everything?

@entrebusecon That’s my worry—that they might be annoyed with the amount of information an applicant provides so they just stop reading the file. But the thing is, some of the strengths that I thought my application had were shown in the end of my supplements, and I just fear that they never got a chance to see it. For instance, I remember another poster in this thread said that he received 0 views on a supplemental video included. I also included a link to a website/video, so I really hope they actually took the time to see it. Thanks for the reply though.

Yale SCEA applicant here, but I just wanted to wish everyone GOOD LUCK. I’m not going to bother with the cliche, “wherever you end up is the right place for you” speech, but if you get in, remember that Harvard is the BIG H! If you get rejected/deferred, remember that Princeton is mostly #1 so Harvard is no big deal.

@gronk87 They are required to look at everything the applicant submits I believe. They might get annoyed with the volume of stuff, but they will keep reading I think.

Tomorrow, I will be on a community service excursion with my whole class until 6:45 pm and it’s required. I won’t check until after that (I don’t want to be around friends if I get deferred). I won’t really have the chance to be on College Confidential between now and then so I want to wish all of you good luck in advance. To those who get in, Harvard is really lucky to have each and every one of you. To those who are deferred, it’s not the end of the world and we are all looking at amazing schools other people would dream of going to. You’re going to go some place amazing. So good luck and Happy (early) D-Day!!!

Has anyone thrown up? At dinner my mom"s vinegary Brussels sprouts came up on me but I just swallowed it all. The acid almost burned a hole through my esophagus

Setting up a bunch of cameras to record my reaction for tomorrow… --> Tears or backflips. Or tears from hurting myself from attempting a backflip.
