my free time: browsing CC, doing apps, and playing cod (often multitasking)

thanks guys

my official act scores probably won’t be coming in until a week from now :[ Should I upload unofficial paper test scores to the portal just so they have something to look at? Or wait it out? Does Harvard start looking at your application even if it’s incomplete?

I think you should upload the paper score report…i’m sure they have that option listed on the portal for a reason. i’m not sure how they evaluate incomplete applications, though.

Do you guys think I should send my 710 for SAT Physics and Literature to Harvard? Or just leave it as only 800 Math II?

I think you should. they do ask for at least 2 sat ii scores (the exceptions are for people who aren’t aware of them or can’t afford them) and they’re okay scores.

@jalebigirl Thanks! I’ll probably do that, then… Hopefully that won’t make my application too unappealing.

@fairyfantasy I sent in my 720 phys and 620 Lit (much worse than yours) – I really don’t know exactly why but probably 3 of them look beautiful together (I have the same combination as you) and at least I want the AO to know I was interested in the subjects enough to take the tests lol – and really I would be crazy to have your scores

I just watched an entire TV show in one day. Waiting season has begun! (In my defense, it was only ten episodes. Anyone here a fan of Over the Garden Wall?)

@mimosa26 I worry a little more since I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth region (very competitive applicants, here) and I am pretty over-represented (Eastern Asian) but thanks for comforting me

Thank you for your response !
But, the main core of a problem is right know is that: I didn’t submit my CommonApp yet. I’ve downloaded offline version of teacher/counselor recommendations. As an international student I thought recommendations would be written as an essay form and a stamp beneath of it. Do my teachers just fill the blanks in the papers that CommonApp gave me and that’s it??? So after all, How I will send all that? Directly to Admissions office? or there will be space in CommonApp profile to upload?.
I am so confused with US higher education admission process,I’ve got so many questions. I hope you understand me properly it is something brand new for me.

How does the application reading process work? By how many readers is an application read before it goes to the committee? How long is an application analyzed/discussed?

@messibarca some time ago we were actually talking about that here on the thread! Here this link gives u the info u want!
<a href=“Stairway to Harvard | News | The Harvard Crimson”>http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2006/7/7/stairway-to-harvard-span-stylefont-style-italicthis/
@UzMnemonic well take it step at a time… If u apply online(not by paper) then all u have to do is fill in all the forms and press SUBMIT,… Once submitted it has been sent to Harvard!
U assign ur teachers (by their email) and they accept ur request and fill in the form and they SUBMIT it as well!
(I used universal college app, but I think the process is the same)

I sent in a 760 in US and a 740 in Lit…was I right to decide not to send the 700 Math II? its a 50th percentile score so i figured i wouldn’t…its too late now but for future reference?

Are likely letters only sent to recruited-athletes during the Early Action admissions round?

@Visionary123 they are mostly sent to recruited-athletes but they are not the only ones!
Other outstanding and exceptional students may also receive a likely letter!

Also, is not getting an interview indicative of a probable negative outcome (deferment or rejection) on mid-December? I submitted my Early Action application on mid-September and still haven’t gotten an interview request. A friend of mine submitted her application on the same day I submitted mine; however, she was contacted by an alumni interviewer a week after having done so. We live in the same geographic area (Central Florida), so the fact that I haven’t been interviewed yet is worrying me and giving me a little bit of anxiety.

@Visionary123 do a quick perusal of one of the many other threads about interviews here on this forum or others. You’ll get your answer quickly

@gibby well thank you I did notice that my parents did not have any income of that sort (I was just asking to make sure, phew)

By the way, does anyone know when Harvard will stop requesting interviews? My country is in the “limited interviewers” list but last year they did interview applicants from my country (from my high school to be exact) so the fact that I haven’t been contacted for interview kind of worries me.

Anyhow, it’s only more than 3 weeks till the results come out. Anyone excited?

Really? You’re sure about this? I’ve always known the opposite… Where did you hear that?
Can anyone else corroborate?
