***Official January 2015 SAT (US ONLY) THREAD***

What time do I get scores in NY?

@PoisonIvy20‌ 5 a.m.

Please post curve as soon as you find out guys .

This is probably my last SAT, not because of the time but because I want to be done with it. I frankly don’t care if I get a lower score than I expected. I just want to be get done with this stupid test (ohh don’t shoot me Collegeboard). SAT is only one of the many things colleges look at when you apply, and I don’t want to spend my precious time taking this unproductive, repetitive test. I will try to do more productive things given the time I don’t have without SAT, maybe finding a new hobby or doing what I love doing. SAT just got to my last nerve, and I can’t stand it anymore. Who made this test anyway and why are colleges looking at this stupid score that ranges from 600 to 2400? What does it test in you? If you get 1900 in November, 2100 in two months, and 2300 in yet another two months, does it mean you got smarter over the course of 4 months? No, it means that you just improved on your “numerical representation of your intelligence”, not your actual intelligence. SAT does not mean anything other than a number for me anymore. Don’t let a single three- or four-digit number rule your life, people.
Relax, don’t panic, don’t cry, don’t yell (with joy OR sadness), don’t stay up until freaking 5 in the morning to see your score, and most importantly, DON’T LET THIS NUMBER DEFINE WHO YOU ARE (yes, cliche cliche cliche). Seriously, it won’t be like you’ll make your living with food stamps if you get 1000 on SAT or make over 100k a year if you get 2400. Later in your life, even at college, you’ll learn to look back and chuckle at how stupid you were being so obsessed with SAT (hopefully). Find something else meaningful to do, like a hobby. Hobby is permanent, SAT is ephemeral.
Sorry for rambling off. I am actually a junior being obsessed with SAT; this whole thing was probably what I have been wanting to do with SAT the whole time. I failed though. I am still being obsessed with this four digit number.
Sorry for my nonsense soliloquy.

@AverageStudent97‌ good use of the SAT vocab word “ephemeral” !

@College123college LOL I guess that would count as a SAT vocab, except that I learned it before I started studying for SAT.

@Hopeso1‌ How was the curve?

Gonna be physically scared to check tomorrow. First SAT and praying it’s my last [-O< [-O<

@AverageStudent97‌ lol same here, I’m also a junior who is obsessed with SAT but at the same time despise it. This is the first time I’ve taken it tho.
The first time I took a practice test was 1,5 years ago and I only got 1600. Now my practice test scores are much much more better, around 2200-2300 ( still not up to CC standards lol ) And that took a lot of time and hard work, doing those repetitive practice tests and learning vocabs from quizlet :PPP So yeah I agree that this test does not necessarily measure our intelligence, and people can still master it if they devote a certain amount of time and work.
I don’t know if I can sleep tonight lol. Maybe I will just keep thinking about those questions that I’m uncertain about :))))

Man, I don’t think I’ve been this anxious before. Hoping for a 2250+, preparing for a 2100. Is there any way to find out your scores earlier with some kind of proxy, or do those only work for AP tests?

@AverageStudent97‌ Well said! I’m a junior too but I want to focus on other things next year and I’ve taken this dumb test once already. Time to be done with it forever after tomorrow!

I love how this discussion has gone from pre test expectations and thoughts, to last minute before the test questions, then to post test answer sharing then a silent period followed by score and curve speculation. And tomorrow it all culminates with score sharing and final thoughts

Can’t tell, I only see my scores on that one college’s website.

Has anyone seen their scores yet? @Hopeso1‌

i literally can’t hold back my anxiety

@ohioan74‌ relax

The anticipation is killing me. I have to know.

Yeah I won’t be sleeping tonight even though I get scores at 5AM -_-

Why stay up and torture yourself when u can set your alarm at either 2 or 5 and then view ur scores then go back to bed

@emersonballer21 I’ve seen mine through a college’s admission website, my scores are good enough to get into the schools I’m aiming for.
