Good ecs, thought my essays were pretty good…

I got rejected. It was a comforting letter. But I was wondering if anyone wouldn’t mind posting their rejection letter. I just want to see if they are individualized or not. I know what I’m asking is rough because who wants to be reminded of rejection. But it would mean a lot to me for those don’t mind.

@ingyin Where are you from?

My daughter just got accepted but didn’t get any financial aid. 4.45 W, 3.85UW, 32 ACT, 9 AP classes, Colorguard, captain of the Robotics Team, NHS and Math Honor Society, GS Gold Award and a personal interview that lasted 1.5 hours. At $66k per year it’s now off her list. To date, she has gotten so much more money from public universities. She’s disappointed. Lafayette was her first choice.

@gina0603 My son is in a similar situation. Still waiting on FA from Nova, but otherwise coming down to honors at UDel, TCNJ, and temple. We’re NJ residents. What publics is your daughter looking at?

Son just got accepted from F & M with great package & same package for University of Richmond. We visited Lafayette many times & it was his first choice. We were very surprised at the wait list letter. We are from NJ & TCNJ moved up the list. Did your son get merit money from TCNJ @mtown27? My son got $5000.

@mtown27 she was accepted into the Honors College at Pitt, UDel, and Penn State. Pitt and Penn State gave her $5000 a year. UDel gave her $10,000 a year. UConn gave her $18,000 a year. She got accepted into Lehigh but we haven’t received their financial aid package yet. We live in PA about 1 hour from Lafayette.

@DTEmom My son also got 5k from TCNJ. Now waiting on a decision on his application for the honors program. Also got 10k from Delaware and full tuition from Temple.

@gina0603 A great set of colleges (though as a Rutgers alum and B1G fan, I hope she doesn’t pick Penn State). :slight_smile:

Penn Stater here! :smiley: Son wait-listed, very disappointed. He got into six other schools, all offer generous merit aid (a couple almost free ride). Interesting that his stats are a bit better than some accepted but he did not apply to any other schools in the northeast.

My son was accepted with the Marquis Scholarship. Those scholarship letters were sent out Mid March from what I gather. End of month the student financial aid package should be delivered. Then know full cost to attend. My impression is Lafayette is very good school and the applicant pool looks really competitive. The scores I see from the posting are at Ivy level. Beatiful campus and since only hour away will attend fall football games with our son. Look forward to meeting the other parents on the open house.

If you were accepted to PSU Honors College that is really good. I think they only take about 300 students. If the package is good would not turn that down.

@TrishaAgarwal hi! I’m from Myanmar / Burma. You?

@ingyin India!

@TrishaAgarwal nicee! did you receive/apply for any financial award?

does anyone here know how to check the Lafayette portal to see if you’ve received any scholarships and stuff?

My son was waitlisted - he got into everywhere else, including Lehigh, Holy Cross, Kenyon, Denison… stats are: SAT 2090, ACT 32, UW GPA 3.7 W 3.98, honors, AP, heavy music involvement, interviewed and visited. He’ll go onto the waiting list, but since he needs decent financial aid it is probably pointless. You never know what they’re looking for when they build a class…he’s a little disappointed but has not taken it personally.
