Yeah, one was ~.7 and another was ~2.7, so I used those values.

I can’t remember the equation but I made all the terms that had y values in them equivalent to zero and I worked with the terms I had left. Ended up with -2x(x+2) or soemthing like that so there was 2 zeroes. You’re probably right though aznosamaboy if you graphed it because I personally don’t know how to graph eqs. on my calc which have multiple variables.

xy^5-2x would be -2x when y=0, but how would you get it to multiply x+2

i sure hope it’s 0 intersections =(

^My friend who also took Math II last weekend said it was two intersections guys so I’m really confused now. My question is did anyone actually solve the equation ALGEBRAICALLY and get zero intersections since I solved the eq. by hand and got two intersections. I’m asking you this because sometimes calulator graphs could be misleading due to variations in MODE, RANGE, WINDOW dimensions, etc. By the way, my friend graphed in on his calc and he got 2 intersections so…

For the question where the period was 2, what was the eq. presented and how did you guys solve it? I think I got the same answer but I don’t remember or know how I got it!!! It was the graph which had sinx and cosx superimposed onto each other.

dictator do you remember the right hand portion of the graph?

it was xy^5-2x=something

I put 0 interesections…Hm.

Haha, anybody has any idea how the curve is like?

probably 44=800

meaning you can miss 5 or omit 6

well i asked two people at school, one put 0 and one put 2

i put 2 too

What was the answer to that deviation one or whatever? I just put down A since it was the only one with one bar. I can’t ever remember learning about that stuff in school. I also noticed that I got right a lot of answers i guessed on like the period question.

What are some problems you guys are debating? I would be glad to help. I took this in october of my either junior/sophmore year (cant remember) and got a 750 (hadn’t learned pre-calc/calc). So what problems are you having trouble with? Just post em’ and i will help :0.

streetdawg- yea, the standard deviation one was A

gyros- if only i could remember the questions >.<

the equation (from what i remember and asked people at school) is something like:

x(y^5)-2x=y+x^2

SOMETHING like that

if i put both sides equal to zero, solve for y, and then graph it to see the intersections, is that right?

i know someone else that did my method and got 2, while i got 0

Gyros, as nice as the offer is, people have been posting plenty of questions, so when you see one, feel free to answer it. I’m sure more will come.

I just see answers. I am not seeing questions >> (went through first 4 pages). Maybe I took too much of a cursory look…

Is the answer to standard deviation question with only one bar on the graph?

hi, i have two questions
are we allowed to use more than one graphing calc on mathiic?
and in the ti89, why does creating programs cause problems?
i was thinking about bringing a ti83 with programs on it (if i need them)

You probably won’t have time to finish the test if you are not fimilar with the material. If you do then you don’t really need any program. I think i only used my calculator 3-4 times during the entire test.

youknowme-yes

lol would anyone like to add to this thread before the scores come out?

well, i pwned collegeboard!
