Official May Sat Critical Reading Discussion

apparentley, mastodons. but i specifically checked and the second passage only mentioned that mastodons didn’t survive an ice age, and that they hunted for sea mammals and stuff (not really “game” IMO)

okay so I’m have no idea what the experimental section was
I got 4 reading sections…2 immediately in the beginning…
I know that one of them was the yawning one…but I can’t rememebr whether it came first or second…
casue I remmeber me being more confident on the ist one…

so anyone with reading experimental…so u know if the yawning one was the first or the second experimental

i put that they acknowledged the fact it was hard to to travel in the glaciers
and in an another one which asked what evidence would help the second author
i put like boats found about 15000yrs ago

For the yawning passage, I saw some people discussing a question about the overall tone of the passage? I have no memory of this; can anyone recall the question more exactly? Hopefully I didnt skip a question and mess up my entire CR test, because I think I did better than last time…

I also got two reading to begin with… and I put boat anchors would substantiate the argument.

crude anchors found 15,000, is that what you meant?

do you mean anchors from 15000 years ago? All I know is I put one with anchors that was more than 13500 years or whatever it was

boats anchors found 15000 years ago was the answer. It proves that boats were used and provides and alternate explanation for that 14,500 year old arrowhead

therhymegirl, I got 2 reading sections from the start as well.

sibsagar12, I put the 15000 years ago thing too.

yep elliot

was one of the choices humor? because i changed it at the end and i didn’t want to but i felt like it =(

my order was:

 1. essay
 2. CR
 3. CR
 4. Math
 5. Writing
 6. CR = one with workers/factories + ice age migration…
 7. Math
 8. CR = library/little women
 9. Math
 10. Writing…

I REALLY HOPE my section 6 one is experimental…cuz i really f’d that up…lol…

yeah did anyone remember putting anecdote for that small story regarding the plane and pilots

Was it a “humorous aside” for that lengthy description of yawning? I didnt think that was defining yawning, I’m pretty sure everyone knew what yawning meant.

no i put it was defining what yawning meant

I thought it was indeed defining, i didn’t find it humorous, only boring

sibs: I remember putting anecdote for something, don’t remember what though

on your thing either section 2 or 3 was experimental. i had the same format.

the question where the answer was anecdote was different from the yawning interjection thing. I put down defining a term.

So…was the section on factories/workers + ice age…an experimental? thanks

do u remember putting anecdote for a questions . other choices was understatement, methaphor and others

I also had the factories/ice age, not sure if it is experimental or not

sibs: considering the other choices you gave, it was definitely anecdote
