****OFFICIAL Northwestern CLASS OF 2019 Discussion Thread****

Haha nvm I just found that

NU will probably accept about 200 less from the RD round this year in compassion to last year’s (90 more ED applicants were admitted this year, factoring in the 45% yield rate for filling those 90 additional seats from last year). It could be more though because I don’t know if ED is included in yield, which it probably is, so maybe 250? There was also, however, around a 2500-3000 applicant drop this year in comparison to last, so the overall acceptance rate in RD shouldn’t decrease, but possibly increase or stay the same.

Yeah, I heard NU acceptance RD is very, very tough because so many appply ED.

Good luck guys, if you don’t get accepted, it just means you were meant for something else. We have work so hard these last 4 years. Even though I don’t know anyone of you, I believe we are have the potential to influence the world no matter the college we go to.

so decisions are definitely not happening tonight, right?

yep

If decisions don’t come tomorrow I’m going to

Keep your chin up brotha

@diavocado sister* :wink:

Tomorrow’s going to be devastating, incredible or a little bit of both. UCLA, NU and Pomona all at the same day…

@jjh2003 Any idea why there was a drop in the number of applications?

@Koreanis and kenyon omg.

Hmmm… This is one of the few schools that have seen a drop in applicants… That’s indeed strange…

@Frazzled503‌ according to the article I read posted earlier today in this thread, people freaked out over the “record high ED acceptances” and decided not to apply believing they wouldn’t have a chance. It also said, however, that there was a drop in the applicants who are consider “low scorers” (idk what that means but I’m assuming maybe SAT below 1800?) so the competitive factor is definitely still there.

How are applicants notified? By email?

@hungryteenager‌ yes. With a link to create a portal which houses your decision, I believe

Yes, you will receive an email with a link to the decision status. Good Luck!

Watch it come out at midnight. I’m been freaking out over the past week. AHHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Hopefully it’s tomorrow, so I can cry about three colleges tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow everyone.

…at least I hope it is tomorrow…
