Do exceptional EC’s boost lower-tier SAT scores (around 2100)?
@tootpasteonface Yes, but applying ED has an even bigger advantage
Is the SAT writing comoonent even considered by Northwestern? I have seen a bunch of sources saying that NU only considers the math and reading. Others say writing is seen as a supplement like a subject test. Can anyone confirm?
@thorson37 most colleges including NU doesn’t look at writing part, unless it is terribly low(700-)
@thorson37 The rep who came to my school this year told us that Northwestern treats the SAT writing section like a subject test score.
@happybean do u go to international high school in skorea? think we might be on the same boat staying up all night on tuesday loll
@wildnanners @happybean I’m from korea too! Are you guys from Seoul?
Does anyone know about what time they’ll be emailing the decisions?
Out of curiosity, what did you guys write for the NU supplement?
@toothpasteonface I wrote half of it about how the summer journalism program I did at NU for five weeks affected my work ethic and my academic interests. I wrote another half about how the double majoring option fits these interests and I topped it off by naming some professors and alums that have had successful careers and how I hope to become like one of them
@mclovin999 yeah I go to school in Seoul, but I’ve only lived here for 4 years, so I’m not exactly korean
well awkward when your highest score was the writing section
@browantscollege Cherubs!
on the tour of northwestern, the admissions counselor told me not to go on College Confidential because they didn’t know what they were talking about. And a month later, here I am stressing myself out with my peers hahaha
@browantscollege Damn that must’ve been persuasive. I wrote about how my playing Crysis instilled a high interest in nanotechnology in me and how Northwestern can help me use graphene based nanoparticles to do various things that I think that will be possible in the future. I mentioned some professors and courses related to nanotechnology. I topped the essay off by naming some of the student organizations related to video games - I’m a gamer :’)
Mine was pretty basic… I wrote about extracurriculars and the quarter system mostly. I also talked about how I want to do one of the certificate programs in Kellogg.
If I live in California, will I technically be getting my decision on Wednesday or … ??
@Suspects no you’ll get it around 2-3pm on tuesday
This might be a dumb question, but do the decisions come out staggered?
