Does anyone know when we might find out?

@NickDS based on this link probably around the 20th-25th

Hey, applicant from Taiwan here! Good luck to you all

https://ugadmission.northwestern.edu/account/login

Where do you get your temporary PIN?

Wondering if anyone had applied for a Mathematics major and has got a LL?

@inshm2016 you have to click I forgot password or something and they will send you a recovery email.

@sodapop027 There isn’t an i forgot password button or anything

@elc2435 there is a link I posted on the previous page. Click on that it will take you to log in. There is a big “Forgot Your Password?” button right next to where you would enter your password. If it isn’t there for you then you will have to wait until they officially send us the portal login email.

This does not reflect the student body at NU, but there was an incident on campus that was extremely racist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic.

@CaliCash These kinds of incidents can happen on any campus. If you do enough digging in any school’s past, you will find dirt. Like you said, this is not an accurate reflection of the majority of Northwestern’s students.

Does being a legacy child have any impact on their decision?

@zekosadieurokrem Yes, it does, but it also depends on whether the applicant is qualified in the first place. There are also other factors such as how involved the parent has been in the alumni network (as well as consistent donations).

@elc2435 Thanks! I am just very disappointed because international students often do not get the opportunity to be interviewed. Interviews do contribute a lot to the overall perception of an admission officer, although some universities state the opposite. My sister graduated from Brown University, and subsequently enrolled in Ph.D. Program in Screen Cultures at Northwestern University. She is confident that the key components of her success were the interviews. I believe that the conversation is a reliable ‘‘scanner’’ for the potential realm of candidate’s possibilities.

@zekosadieurokrem Yes, it’s unfortunate that international students do not get that opportunity during the admissions process, but don’t worry — they take that into consideration. It’s true that interviews can be a boost if they are truly exceptional, but at the end of the day, if you’re qualified you’re qualified, and if you’re not, then you’re not. If they have to choose between you and a lesser-qualified domestic applicant who did an interview, they’re going to choose you.

@elc2435 Thank you. I really appreciate your time that you have put into this matter.
I wish you the best of luck if you are waiting for the decision.

I heard decisions will be out this Thursday.
