** Official Northwestern Class of 2021 Discussion Thread **

@swqonmahpheet

I was in the middle of doing something when I got the email so I had to wait nearly 2 hours before I could check. I checked using the email and got accepted. I had did the forgot password earlier, but if you didn’t, I think email gave you a pin.

For those of you who were rejected, are you still planning on applying to schools that are in the same tier as NU?

congrats to everyone who was accepted/deferred!!!
and for those of you like me that were rejected, you probably cried, felt like you weren’t going to get in anywhere, and pretty much felt useless, but you will find somewhere that you’ll be happy. it feels like complete crap right now, but things will turn around and everything will end up working out. besides not being able to spend the next 4 years of your life somewhere you’ve probably dreamed about and imagined for years, the worst part of this is the actual feeling of rejection and feeling like you’re not good enough, but hang in there because it will get better :slight_smile:

@lulu7575 NU was a reach for me anyway so maybe a few but I was looking at my list and decided to add some more safeties/schools that are not near the same tier as NU like u miami, boston college, and gwu

rejected :confused:

Accepted into Weinberg! Go Cats! Thankful for everyone being so supportive and friendly :slight_smile: you guys are great!

Congrats to y’all who have been accepted :slight_smile: I guess NU was a pretty huge reach for me… Anyways, to answer lulu7575, I’ve already applied to UCs, CSUs, and USC, since I’m from California, and will probably apply to Georgetown and JHU additionally.

Thanks for the support too, from people with words of comfort :slight_smile:

I was accepted!!! Northwestern was a huge reach for me but I received the email today and I couldn’t be happier!

any spanish majors out there??

anyone apply to Medill?

I am thinking of applying to medill next year can i see your stats and EC’s (if you are willing to) to see if I have a realistic shot at getting in?

Can i see your stats and/or EC’s to know my chance at Medill next year?

i got into Weinburg too! what’s your major @Matthew234

@whatsamania
Thank you man!
Best of luck at NU!
At least now that i know the result i can stop with the anxiety xD
denial is not altogether a surprise and i was bracing myself for it fortunately

GUYS HELP i never got an email from northwestern about decisions being released (i made an account beforehand through the link that was given on here https://ugadmission.northwestern.edu/apply/status)

i got in BUT i just never received any email telling me that my decision was up or any emails from NU. the last email they sent me was the one where they told me that my app was under review/complete back in november. i just checked my portal i set up before

am i okay? have any of you guys also not have gotten any emails from NU about decisions (maybe because you made an account before decisions were released?)

@jaecha I’m in the same boat as you. I never got an email saying if my admissions decision was up or anything I just did the forgot password thing and was able to login and check.

Yeah it’s cause we made the account prior to decisions being released!

Congrats on getting in and best of luck in NU!!!

Hi! International student here. Does anybody know whether NU requires students to submit their transcripts for high school leaving examinations? Or did they ever ask students to submit them?

I just wanna put my stats here because I think they might make someone feel better. I think that I was in pretty much the optimum place to be accepted and I was still deferred, so don’t dismay.

My unweighted GPA is about 3.83 and should be just over 4.3 weighted. In terms of extracurriculars, I founded the Gay-Straight Alliance at my school, I’m a member of science olympiad and Model U.N., and I’ve played piano for 14 years. I’ve gotten multiple awards from my school, the county, and some national competitions for my mastery of the French language.

Oh yeah, I applied to McCormick. Not going to lie, the deferral decision is a little bit surprising.

@aurenlee4242 Not entirely sure, but I’m thinking economics at this point. Who knows… looking forward to taking advantage of the quarter system!

Also, does anyone know if there is a FB page for the class of 2021?
