Missed my interview opportunity… They only offered a few interviews in my area. Sucks, NU is one of my favorites.
@CuriousBobby and @niclyd95 , I missed it too. The email went to my spam folder. I emailed them and told them about the mishap… They were cool about it and told that it would not affect the decision in any way…

@IvyKid1 my D applied to Weinberg for social sciences, so we were a bit confused. Sounds like it’s a generic e-mail.
I didn’t get the invite…but i applied as a science major for weinberg. what was the invite?
Just an e-mail about ISP (see link below). Those interested in applying have to do so separately from the regular admission process which is probably why they sent this out.
Is it bad that I didn’t receive the email for ISP even though I applied as a science related major @ Weinberg?
@allima you shouldn’t read much into it. My D did NOT apply as a science major and she received it. It might be hit-or-miss (or the e-mail went to your Spam).
Seems like a mass e-mail. I’m a philosophy major and I’ve taken multivariable calc, but I think it’s sent automatically to all Weinberg/STEM applicants.

I actually started thinking about applying for ISP after that e-mail until I realized I missed my chance last Saturday to take the one other subject test I would have needed…
Do you guys think applying to ISP would show additional interest in the school and help with regular Northwestern admission?
Not sure, @collegelessguhl. They say it’s separate admission. It’s a moot point with us anyway because D17 doesn’t have any science subject tests and isn’t about to take them. I was flipping through her application tonight to make sure she didn’t accidentally apply to a science major. Turns out she mentions math throughout her essays! Maybe they read them and tossed her name over to this program. I doubt it increased chances or anything.
