I didn’t take it but I’m gonna go with crude artistic expression and sarcasm. Crude meaning in its raw state, unlike the ink which is in its “finality”

Im pretty sure it was devise for the conceive questiom because devise means to invent from previous ideas or principles.

Crude means “in a natural or raw state; not yet processed or refined.”

—>>>" Ink, on the other hand, whether in a book or on plans or on a contract, signifies FINALITY and supersedes the pencil DRAFTS and sketches. If early pencilings interest collectors, it is often because of their
association with the permanent success written or drawn in ink." <-- I bolded for emphasis

Ink writing finalizes the initial, CRUDE pencil writing.

“Unlike graphite, to which paper is like sandpaper, ink flows smoothly and fills in the nooks and crannies of creation. Ink is the cosmetic that ideas will wear when they go out in the public.”

Again, ink is adding onto the initial expression of an idea. When you write with a pencil, it’s crude, and honest - almost like someone who doesn’t wear makeup in their home. Hence the metaphor the author used.

not sure why I’m arguing when I didn’t even take this test lol

Also, the “messy” part scares me, because the question refers to “dirty truth” and CB know people will latch onto that because they are thinking literally.

did anybody get the question in the math section which said something about enlarging a figure by 50%?

It’s not the just the crude expression that is the dirty truth, it is the general process of writing that is the dirty truth. Therefore, it is messy creative process.

@Mystic7 LOL we’re too much

@scarlettlovesivy this is bringing back memories of my adamant Sonny arguments loool

I’ll concede defeat when the test results come back :P

its about a 2x2 square. Each side enlarged by 50%, which makes it a 3x3. so the area change would be from 4 to 9, the answer was 5

@Mystic7 We are so used to the rush of SATs that when we don’t take them, we live through the stress vicariously from others. #StopSonny2014 but you wouldn’t know, miss 800

thanks @TheTYG

thanks @TheTYG

does anyone remember the answer to the algebraic expression question with p & m?

So was the arachnid one “thus” or “it is”

@2400boii how was it devised if the passage said that the corn was sort of conceived out of nowhere. It would be descended.

@LOLBeast1 do you remember the exact sentence of the arachnid question?

answer was P

the answer to the last MC problem in the 18Q grid in section was 2root5 right? @TheTYG

@emersonballer21 2root5 does sound familiar

@t3rryd4ctyl you are definitely right and i completely agree for both answer choices, that was my same reasoning

and also sarcasm was too negative of an answer choice

Hey guys, very anxious after that test on Saturday. Mostly worried about that CR.
The questions I still have are pretty much the ones that have been hotly debated over the course of this thread, and since I need to decide whether to cancel this by Wed, I’d just like to ask what your rationale was for picking either of the following answers to the aforementioned questions so there can be a sense of finality both for me and everyone else.

Both authors agree on clarity of written language or non static nature?

Dirty state of pencil = messiness of creative process or crudeness of artistic expression?

Does author 2 (loves punctuation) think that the “meaning” author 1 talks about is enhanced by grammar or is just arbitrary?

Does the family preserve history like a writer embellishing stories or like an interviewer conducting multiple interviews?

Going to leave personal bias out and ask for a realistic evaluation of answers. Thanks and GL.
