No i didn’t apply for fordham. I mean I applied to NYU early March, and didn’t get decision yet… very nervous!

@ClutchM I’m in the same boat as you re NetID. I finally called today and the lady I spoke to said it can take a couple weeks, but you can e-mail admissions.ops@nyu.edu and often get a quicker response. Just e-mailed them now!

… and they just responded with my netID!

what did u say in ur email cityfimtran

idk i called NYU and they told me, an external transfer, that if they need something from US then they will contact us directly. if not, assume they got everything. We are supposed to hear end of april, early may.

Any international applicants waived for TOEFL? I was told by 2 of NYU admissions counselor before I applied to NYU, that I can be waived for Toefl since I completed English composition courses and I am earning my Associates in May. So I didn’t take TOEFL. I called the admissions office today to ask whether I should email to be waived for Toefl or they will automatically waive it, and they said I can’t be waived since the only condition that waives Toefl is living in English country for 3 years. I don’t understand why the 2 admissions counselor said so.

Just said I hadn’t received my net id and sent my application in 11 days ago. Now I’m worried because it says they haven’t received my transcripts! Will it never end??

Hi guys, I have a NetID account now…how do you check what materials you are missing? In Albert, I clicked on Application Status and all it says is “This Application is Incomplete” yet it doesnt say what they dont have…waaaaaaat???

im not sure if emailing and asking for a NedID would be the best option… what do you guys all think?

oh do it! THe thing is, I gave in my application March 10th or so and I was wondering why I didnt recieve a NetID for so long. THen I emailed them and within 5 minutes, they sent me it. so why not?

whats the email to send to?

@clutchm3, I believe this is the email: admissions.ops@nyu.edu

Hey guys,

I applied to NYU Tisch for Film and TV for external Fall 2011 transfer (going in as a junior). I was able to set up my NetID through the backdoor way. I’m not quite sure what that means. Did I get accepted?

Here’s what the NYUHome site has to say about NetIDs:
“All NYU faculty and staff members, as well as students enrolled in degree or diploma programs, are provided with an NYU NetID (Network IDentification).”

And University IDs:
“University ID numbers were issued to ALL students, as of August 2004. All new students are also assigned a university ID. Your university ID number can be found on the back of your NYUCard (student ID card). It is located directly above the barcode and labeled as ‘Univ ID’.”

I haven’t gotten any mail from NYU back yet. So this is all I have to go off of. Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

^ I think that from this year, NYU has issued NetId’s to all applicants, not just those who got accepted. So sorry, I don’t think it means you got in. =(

@giant midget – do u think sending an email is a good idea?>

I was able to activate my NetId through my social security as well.
But it says that they have not received my high school transcript, college transcript and SAT scores. I sent them all in 3 weeks ago. =S

srivera617 - I don’t think it can do any harm. Other’s have been successful.

Edit* - I just checked collegeboard and it says that they sent in my scores on April 8, even though I paid for it a long time ago. Do you think NYU will accept my scores?

@SEANKIM: hello, they don’t waive you TOEFL. I went to high school in US and currently a freshman in college, looking for transferring into NYU. I was told that it is highly recommended that international students provide their TOEFL scores. Although it says on their website international student can be waived TOEFL score under certain conditions…but trust me, they wont waive you

giantmidget – but wouldnt they eventually send u an email saying that ur application is incomplete anyways?

Wait, I thought it wasn’t necessary to submit the SAT scores if we have over 30 credits? I managed to set up my NetID too, but it says it needs my high school transcript (I told my high school to send that like a month ago, so the fact that they don’t have it yet has to be ********), college transcript (that’s acceptable, I guess) and my SAT scores.

I’m confused as to why my SAT scores are required if I have over 30 credits?

This is from an email I got on 12/20/10 from the admissions office: “We don’t require SAT scores from transfer applicants…”

So that just confuses me more…ughhhhhh

They don’t require SAT scores if you have already completed 30 credits. However, if you are in the process of completing 30 credits, you do have to submit them.

@srivera617 - Yeah, but I was just eager to find out quickly =P
