Thanks Flipsta_G! But those werent such bad articles compared to MLK and the cecil one. Oh well…

Maybe that last second cheating bumped my score up another 10 points and that can make Alot of Difference. So I don’t really feel that guilty, I’m sort of proud that I was able to get away with it.

the answer to the triangle one was definitely 8

similar triangles

I got 8 as the base.

For the fire truck question, the m-distance was 4.5, right?

3.5

I also went back and filled in the rectangle one.

It was

l… /,l
l…/,l
l…/,l
l_______/___l
a…b…c

The Area of the triangle was 7 and BC was 2/5 of AC and AB was 3/5 of AC. they wanted to know the area of the whole triangle. Please say it was 21.

Also I got a 1240 from previous tests and I’m fairly confident that I might have bumed it up to at least 1280 or higher because I think I did good on both sections. I have a good feeling about the test…SO it will probably really stink when I end up getting the same scores as last time. :slight_smile: I keep telling myself not to get my expectations up but It is kind of hard when I get the ones that I guessed on correct.

It was 23.3 or 70/3.

AB was 2, AC was 5 so BC was 3.

Area of triangle = 1/2 bh
We know the base, we know the area, what is the height?
7=(.5)(3)h
h=4.6667

Area of rectangle = lw
A=(5)(4.6667)
= 23.333 or 70/3

they wanted to know the area of the entire rectangle. section AP (not really AP, i forget what it was) was 2/5 the entire section AB. so, if you make the length of the triangle 5, that means AP is 2/5, or 2, and section PB is 3. If section PB is 3 and the area of the triangle is 7, that means the height of the triangle has to be 3x/2 = 7, or 14/3. then multiply the height by the length and get 14/3 x 5, or 70/3.

EDIT on the post ABOVE. I think the it was the other way around BC was 3/5 and AB was 2/5 .

Am I the only one who thinks the question about “suffered” in the MLK passages was “felt” instead of “endured”? Darn…

Dualityim, I put endured.

Also since I guess I f-ed up on that Rectangle one. It doesn’t really matter since It was a fill in the blank one, BUT I still would have liked to have gotten it right. Anyways.

What did everyone put for the Jesse Jackson question.

can somebody explain to me what the units digit problem was?

It was 23.3 or 70/3.

AB was 2, AC was 5 so BC was 3.

Area of triangle = 1/2 bh
We know the base, we know the area, what is the height?
7=(.5)(3)h
h=4.6667

Area of rectangle = lw
A=(5)(4.6667)
= 23.333 or 70/3

This is correct. Been proven many times. Also, dualityim I think the general consensus has been endured.

Three consecutive intergers where if you multiply the smallest by largest, the units digit of the resulting product will = 9. Therefore, what does the units digit of the middle number have to be?

For this to work, the units digit of the middle number needs to be 0. It works for everything. 9, 10, 11. 19, 20, 21. Etc.

I’ll ask again. Not being impatient I’m just curious. and You might have missed it.

What did everyone put for the answere to the Jesse Jackson question in the Reading.

Not everybody…it’s experimental.

???experimental??? what.

I have a question on the firetruck one. I put 4 paths, but I believe the correct answer was 6. Is this so?

Please read the thread!

Firetruck: 6 different ways
Triangle inside rectangle: 23.3 or 70/3

Both have been proved practically every 3 pages!

Also, can someone tell me what section of math was experimental? I can’t understand from any of the posts which one was.

Was the question about the two tangent spheres experimental? If not, what did everyone get?
