umm… lol clearly you are missing the point. lol – okay attempting to make the case that a trillion dollars is more than paying 100,000$ every day since Jesus was born, etc. is ■■■■■■■■…

i don’t care whether or not you think it is an “accepted practice.” It IS stupid, and if you can’t see the stupidity in it, then clearly YOU, my friend, are missing the point entirely. Since you did in fact miss it, let me clarify it for you, maybe dumb it down a little. I’m not deriding the use of visual aids as a whole, for example: pie charts/graphs and whatever to illustrate points easily is completely valid. But when you rest your whole argument (saying that 1 trillion dollars is TOO BIG a stimulus) based SOLELY on the fact that a trillion$ would circle the earth’s equator 39.4 times (or w.e it was)… then that is very very weak argument… If you’re going to criticize the packpage, dont just say: “WOW 1 Trillion DOLLARS!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU COULD DO WITH A TRILLION DOLLARS???” That is a large number of GOP’s argument… A lot of them (as Thune effectively did there) fail to actually point out what they object to that the money is being used for (besides the ■■■■■■■■ attempt to make a case that the bill contains an enormous amount of pet projects and other nonsense B.S. that is clearly politics with no economic basis behind it)

i thought i made that clear enough for you in the last post Dbate… too bad i’m not gunna make a visual aid to help you out with this one, you’ll just have to figure it out yourself big guy

I was actually going to apologize for making a rude post and I do because it is not called for to be rude. But your arguement is ridiculous, attacking someone because of a visual aid is irrelevant.

I’ve gotta agree with acceptd on this one, using visual aids isn’t stupid in itself, but the way Thune’s using his visual aids, and pretty much the whole argument itself is stupid

dbate for some reason or another, cannot grasp the fact that i am NOT attacking someone because of a visual aid… its the CONTENT OF THE VISUAL AID… heh i thought that was clear the 2nd time around, i guess not… well Galless caught on…

No, Senator Thune clearly had a defined purpose for using that visual aid: he is stimulating the economy by keeping Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert in business. By showing hilarious, quite irrelevant sign boards on the floor of the Senate, the Senator provides the late night comedy shows with 3+ minutes of programming each!

What? So at the beginning was it 88 days? OMG those 44 days are gonna fly bye. In that is spring break, and I get to miss several days for debate tournaments.

44 days. Wow. Looking back, it seems so quick, but while you’re in it, it seems like forever!
I’ve got random 3-day weekends in there, too - so it won’t be all that bad… :)

Hahahah wow reading some of these posts definitely made my day. Ah 44 days isn’t that bad! Its so frustrating though, just waiting and going on CC to see if a fluke made Princeton send out letters a month early.

I’m with you guys: because of all my activities, I will have less than a 50% attendance rate in March! Unfortunately, our spring break isn’t until Easter week.

This is so exciting, I will be sitting in school and just randomly think of decisions. Even if I get rejected from all my reaches I would be okay this whole experience and anticipation is exciting.

I may be a nerd :P, but I already made my template for when decisions come out.

GARR!!! is anyone just so frustrated with how much longer we have to wait. Sometimes I cant handle it. And on top of that I have to write a 10 page term paper for Tuesday. Which I guess should waste some time, but i can’t stop checking CC. haha
