**Official Princeton Class of 2013 Decisions COUNTDOWN!**

I’m so bipolar right now too. The greatest optimist one minute and really, really down the next. We’ll find out soon - can’t wait!

Aw, shougan, I’m sorry to hear that, too. Things will turn out all right - just go have a blast on your vacation now :)

AH!! I hate seeing my friends get rejected from schools! It’s like this poison that slowly creeps into my own self-confidence. (Will I get into Princeton? Will I? Will I? Shut up poison… ).

Wow, reading the MIT thread freaked me out, just knowing that’ll be us in 17 days. :o

shougan: Yes, it was from the February issue of Seed. Sorry about the MIT rejection, I hope you have better luck at Princeton.

I’ve been looking over the MIT decisions forum… and it’s a pretty weird mix of students. I wonder what thoughts the admissions officers had when they looked over who to accept and who to deny. Sometimes you wonder if they just consult a magic 8 ball.

To anyone who’s worried about the acceptances/rejections from MIT… just remember that Princeton is a vastly different school. It hasn’t worried me because I have a humanities bent, and it shouldn’t worry all the engineering applicants at Pton because Princeton looks at more than how you fit into a science curriculum. MIT and Princeton are two different schools with two different applications and two different sets of attributes they’re looking for, so don’t get worried.

so what! (about the possible rejections in a matter of 17 days)
at least we’re going to college, right?!

i’m sure you’ve all gotten in somewhere already! no need to fret! :)

how many options do you guys have at this point? (like which schools are you already in at?) i’m fairly sure you guys have LOTS of options already! :D

regardless of whether or not princeton says yes… we’re all going to have a wonderful four years. new school, new friends, new freedom, new LIFE!

i hate seeing good people worry! smile! you’re almost outta high school!

Aw, letranger, you make me smile and you are so very right!

and sunshowers, I agree. MIT of all schools shouldn’t be foreshadowing Princeton. They’re looking for VERY different students, in my opinion.

I am scared out of my freakin’ head right now! I want to go to Princeton so badly. I pray about it every night! But my SAT scores and GPA are so much lower than their average. Even for a URM, I am kind of below the norm. I feel like my 1860 SAT and 3.73 UW GPA won’t do the job. I am so scared. Princeton has always been my dream. This is the reason why I have maintained a high GPA. I am actually resorting to Affirmative Action to get me in. It is really unbelievable. I need to lower my expectations, but my desire is so great. I realize the odds. But I have already defeated these odds when I got a likely from UVa. I hope this transfers into Princeton and Dartmouth. I am craving these universities. I have been all of my life. I hope my dream will come true.

aww ^^ i hope you get in!!
i totally know how you feel! my scores are awful compared to what i see on here
im hoping that march 31st wont be too disappointing for me :)

good luck everyone

I didn’t get into MIT, but I figure that’s because they want science/engineering kids, which I’m weak at, and I convince myself I still have a chance at Princeton because I’m very strong at math/music and that’s perfect for Princeton.

^^EDIT: idk what tht is above
^^ yes definitely – lol @ butternut, reading the MIT forum freaked me out today too… reading the stats of these kids who got Rjected, but u have to keep in mind, what were their essays like? who knows.

16 days! hyperventilation

I am not even worried. Thanks to God I have gotten almost a full ride to the University of Texas in the engineering honors program so the decisions from other schools are like gravy on the 20 oz. beef steak I have already gotten. Yay Texas!

I will just be really happy this is over and in some ways I might miss it, I mean you only get one time to apply to college straight out of high school we should just enjoy the wait and probably do something that takes our mind off of it.

Getting into WashU boosted my confidence a little but after getting killed by MIT, I feel hopeless…

Hopes after16 days everybody will be happy.

Is anyone else more excited than nervous? This is the nerd’s adrenaline rush to me. ;)

Sunshowers: totally. I mean I love checking my mail box. Plus I got called down to guidance the other day and I freaked out. It was very exciting.

I’m very excited to find out but yet calm at the same time. I’m sure that I’m going to get rejected but since I already got an early acceptance from Amherst and Swarthmore, I can at least relax as the other decisions come out.

Yeah, I’m not feeling nearly as nervous as before since I got a likely letter from Dartmouth saying that I was in. I still love to get the mail, though!!

The MIT thread scared the socks off me  I strongly doubt that everyone who got rejected was either a jerk or wrote bad essays. I would have to say that the magic 8 ball theory seems very likely to me :)

A spot at a college in Switzerland is guaranteed, you just ‘sign up’ before April 29th. Yet somehow, I still feel wicked nervous and incredibly bi-polar :/

The thing about the MIT decisions is it made me realize, “Holy Mackerel, this is REAL!” Decisions never really seemed real until that point.

16 Days. In order to help lighten the mood of this thread, I shall do the following:

:)

so not to be a downer, but if there is an incident with Princeton like the MIT Massacre and Stanford slaughter, what will Princeton’s slogan be?
The Princeton Pandemic?
The Princeton Paroxysm?
The Princeton Perdition?

Just throwing some ideas out there to discuss. This should keep us busy for a day or two…
