I like Princeton Pandemonium because it makes me think of a thousand Princeton applicants running around in circles, yet we don’t know if they are running in exuberation or exasperation. And it describes how all of us are feeling as we wait for decisions…

^ Actually, although “chaos” is the modern definition, the word “Pandemonium” was actually used by Dante as the deepest pit of Hell in Paradise Lost.
:)

Pandemonium originates from Paradise Lost by Milton, it’s the place in the first book where Satan addresses all of the demons, hence Pan-Demonium.

yea Princeton Purging is good it reminds me of all the weak applicants being cast out of the mix in true Divine comedy style. March 31st is going to be a day of reckoning that would make Dante himself proud.

hahahaha wow only on CC would people catch that.
Yeah, I amalgamated two of my favorite depictions of Hell: Paradise Lost and the Inferno.
Personally, I prefer the Inferno (because I prefer Dante to Milton), but yes, “Pandemonium” is in Milton’s Paradise Lost.
My mistake :D

Ok we need a new topic besides naming decision dates…
How about what is everybody’s FAVORITE thing about Princeton?
And does anyone have any siblings that attend now?

@floatingsaturn
My sister’s a frosh there now, so I’m hoping it helps my chances-I tried to get her to butter up the dean of admissions or something but no dice
Favorite thing? I like the sound of the eating clubs lol

undergraduate focus.
its simply beautiful there.
its close to new york (and i didnt wanna go to columbia either!!)
i was born in princeton, nj.
it reminds me of house (the show obviously) because he works at princeton-plainsboro hospital
plus a million other things

haha House, u know the building in the opening shots of house is the Frist center at Princeton. It felt kind of weird recognizing it after visiting the school

The campus!! I felt at home as soon as I arrived there–it’s exactly what that nebulous idea of “college” looked like in my imagination. And I love the town, too–it seems a lot like a somewhat richer version of my hometown.

besides the beautiful campus, the math program is awesome and music and theater are amazing too. it’s also the perfect size and it’s not far from NYC. there’s nothing I don’t like about it but I won’t be surprised if I don’t get in.
