<p>Who else is going to wait for the snailmail letter? In the US the delivery won’t take long (1-3 days) so I suppose your price for the sensation of slitting open a decisions letter wouldn’t be too high. Anyone else with a passion for paper?</p>

<p>3/12 – WashU wait listing me kind of hurt
3/14 – MIT’s rejection was uncool
3/26 (5 PM) – Duke wait listing me just about killed my hopes
3/26 (11 PM) – and then Northwestern’s acceptance brought the confidence way way up</p>
<p>only 4 days left!</p>

<p>I’m the stereotypical guitar-player who started playing Metallica at 14 and then, at age 17, found out that violin was probably more his instrument. Shred Bach and Paganini and find no joy in it; and then slip that fact into a college essay as indicative of depth of character. Oh joy.</p>
<p>Princeton princeton… 4 more days and I’ll know for sure!
Then comes the hard part of deciding where to go…</p>
<p>I’m getting so nervous! 4 days!! I just want to know and start deciding - I think that’ll be the fun part, getting to be on the decisions end of things rather than the waiting end :)</p>
<p>I just got into Boston U! That’s a bit of a confidence booster for Tuesday, lol.</p>

and musicgal, i hope its fun for you since you seem so excited, but im in mental anguish. I have no clue where I actually want to go and whether i should pick ivy over the wonderful scholarship my state school offered me. (Plus, if ivy, which ivy?) It seems like this is one of the most important decisions in my life and i have no inkling!!</p>
<p>Btw, all , im reading a heart wrenching book called A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. Check it out if you love reading!</p>

Stanford and Vanderbilt between now and Tuesday…but I don’t care! If I get in, yay. If I get rejected, I already got into Duke, so that’ll serve as my emotional life-raft for a few more days . . . at which point my metaphorical raft of emotion gets destroyed by the hulking iceberg of Ivy rejection.</p>

<p>thanks Butternut, it’s all good. apparently the engineering school was murderously difficult to get into this year. out of all the ucb applicants at my school, i was the only one to apply for engineering, and we know how that ended.</p>
<p>speaking of which, i will be extremely relieved when this whole waiting thing is over. i’ve got 2 major papers i should be writing that i cannot focus on AT ALL haha</p>
