<p>I equate waitlisting to rejection. But it is all good. Kudos to all the accepted students. Reading the all the stats around here, I feel honored to be even waitlisted.</p>

  • SAT IIs: Latin 770 Math 2 760 bio m 730
  • GPA 8.7/10 in the netherlands this is extremely high
  • Rank:1/116
  • Senior Yr Courseload: Most rigorous, 10 courses of which 5 different languages (dutch, english, german, french and latin)
  • Number of Apps from Your School: NONE, first ever to get into and ivy leage! And i got into 4!!</p>

<p>Other stats: </p>

<p>Subjective:

  • ECs listed on app: Student council president, student representative in school board, Theater course of 6 houres a week for three years at local college, photography, tutoring, debating team, tennis
  • Job/Work Experience: tutoring, amnesty international 8 hours/week
  • Essays (subject and responses): common about why I love learning
    foreign languages, how I discovered my love and how I use my skills, I believe it was very good. Supplement about my passion for Photography, also good.They were both very personal and me!
  • Teacher Recs: Haven’t read them but I think they were very good and one of the top few of my career stuff (they told me some parts), they all know me very well
  • Counselor Rec: very good, also top of career and she knows me very well as well
  • Interview (feel and general location):wasn’t offered one!
  • Hook (if any): 5 languages and 800cr as an international? I sent in a good photography portfolio as well</p>

  • Is Princeton your #1 choice?: Yale is, but if I got R’d from Harvard, I doubt Yale will take me.

I talked about how I almost changed my name–pressured by western assimilation, and how realized that it would ultimately be erasing a piece of who I am. Another essay, I wrote about my first ride on a Ferris wheel in a run-down parking-lot carnival. I discussed how my views on the world and human-nature changed within that moment of glittering lights and </p>[/li]
<p>echoing laughter/circus music.
[<em>] Teacher Recs: I had several teacher/community recommendations. One from my History of Art AP teacher, and one from my AP U.S. History. They both discussed my artistic/literary contribution coupled with intellectual discussion vigor. I also got a lot of extracurricular teachers such as my Literary Magazine/Club sponsor and my French teacher to contribute a letter. My employer also wrote one–highlighting my life at home.
[</em>] Counselor Rec: I know my Counselor extensively. She’s one of my personal heros; we have long after-school discussions from time to time. I’ve known her since ninth grade; although, my school has many, many students, I have always made time to talk to her. Her recommendation letter was superb–at least, in my opinion. She really highlighted a lot of my personality and character attributes while mentioning my passions and motivations as well.
