To those deferred - ok, they didn’t reject you guys outright. You still have a chance. At the end of the day, they had only so many spots. It is clear that they did want to hold on to you guys. One thing to keep in mind in your essays - How will you contribute to the Princeton community? At the end of the day, there are say 4 with 2300+ and leadership, but then someone with that and something the college wants (say a top band member, one girl from my school was all that and ranked in the top 10 state swim, one an accomplished tap dancer). How are YOU going to enhance the community? At the end of the day, that person with a 2200 and maybe just 3 APs instead of the 8+ APs will be chosen. If you are a swimmer, go varsity swim, if you are good in a musical instrument, you better have done some orchestra/band. Another girl I know raised tons of money for her community cause giving her great recommendations. You NEED to stand out. Good luck. Anyway, if it is not Princeton, you will surely get in to one of the top places and you will be successful no matter what.
