I checked with our head GC today, and he said he doesn’t expect the scores until mid-Dec – btw, we’re on the left coast waiting for the Pony Express

Check the email that you wrote on the PSAT student search service. Have you gotten anything from colleges based on the test?

i didn’t put anything down, but people from my school recieved information in the mail. i don’t know about e-mail.

My guidance counseler looked at the college board calender and it reported scores sent next week. So…

Bracket, I got those last year but that was…much after december, I think.

And then the week after the scores are mailed to schools we get to go online to CB and get all the answer explanations. W00t, w00t. Although thanks to CC I already know why I got 2 wrong on the math. Stupidest…mistakes…ever…I can NOT believe I did not finish that grid in problem with the two equilateral triangles . Gah!

I got an email from Columbia’s engineering department and it said that it received contact info. from the Collegeboard’s student search service… and this PSAT is the first collegeboard test I have taken. Could this be a good sign, or do you think Columbia sends this kind of stuff to everyone?

LOL zoogies, funny that you mention the triangle problem… I ended up getting it, but it took me a long time for some odd reason, so don’t feel so bad about it.

I made a ■■■■■■■■ math error also, it was on a problem not even worth mentioning…and no it wasn’t a trick problem it was just a stupid mistake.

i strongly doubt they send it out to everyone
hopefully it means you did very well on math at least

Notice how StarWarsKid hasn’t replied back. He was probably looking at everyone’s posts and laughing that he had caused such a frenzy. I’m not particurally mad at him, in fact, he was kind of clever. Now that he’s been found out though, he’s going to have trouble getting people to believe him anywhere on CC. Remember, there are many people just like him, so take everything on CC with a GRAIN OF SALT.

i got a 222(80m/68v/74w) last year as a junior from new york and i got semifinalist go me.

i made a really stupid one in the math section…still beating myself up for it. It was a grid in. the distance between two cities. i complicated the problem to the point of no return, and so i omitted it…turns out all i had to do was subtract one distance from another, which i’d suspected all along but didn’t dare consider…it was so simple. i should have just put it down. not even at the risk of losing 1/4 point…arghujhrg; i seriously could have used an extra pt…

ahhhh… i made that same mistake ![]()
wasn’t it like 5 and 4?

so 5 - 4 is 1

i made a pythag triangle :-

and for the one about green, red, blue, i forgot blue had to be even so i put 4 for red

how do i remember this stuff from october? lol

that wasn’t the answer no, but the right concept–answer was 4, i think

I seem to remember the answer being 4.6

And ontolome, there is no penalty for guessing on grid-ins.

that’s it
100% sure now

he said NOT EVEN at the risk of losing .25
i think he knows

Ah, it took a bit more thought compared to the other ones in the section (and the math test in general, which was a breeze). I figured out the side length, did a little mental jig and was all happy, and after the test I realized I forgot to account for triangles having three sides and…yeah…I stopped at side length.

The other one, I mistook ‘x-axis’ for ‘y-axis.’ Might’ve been the other way around as it was so long ago, but it appears the general consensus is that it’s NOT the one I thought it was.

you know what’s funny, not a soul has gotten his/her scores yet (looks like it’ll be a week at the least), but this thread is already almost up to 100 replies.

jimmy, I was about to say the same thing.

yea it’s dominating
anticipation is growing

definitely, but i’m pretty sure we get it in 2 weeks.

and i suggest we actually make a new thread lol called Waiting for Scores or something. and when we actually get our scores make an Official PSAT scores thread
