*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)*

Could people please give their opinions on the test overall. DO you all think it was harder,easier or about the same.

I though math was easier, but reading and writing more difficult, as demonstrated by the better curves.

Math was definitely easier, as shown in the curve.
Reading, I think was harder, but not the hardest it could get.
Writing was decently easier than last year and two years ago; 1 wrong in form S was 76, and 2 wrong in form W was 73, which are pretty harsh.

How do you guys think the cutoffs for this year’s test will compare with last year’s?

Does anyone have a prediction for how bad the cutoff will be for 2015 PSAT? It’s the new one, and covers more material, so would the assumption be that standards have lowered for this first year of the new test?

Okay did ANYONE ELSE think that the math was harder and the critical reading was easier? Or am I alone here? Too bad the curve goes against me :((

@Floridaboii‌ if you look at the ENTIRE CURVE for all three sections, it is evident that the writing and reading curves were more lenient this year, however math was harsher. I would believe that since 2/3 of the curves are more lenient than last years, the cutoff will be lower. However we will have to wait for the mean scores to be released before we can definitively know.

Writing curve was atrocious on Form A; I got 3 wrong and ended up with a 670.

<a href=“jacobbrunson.me - This website is for sale! - jacobbrunson Resources and Information.”>jacobbrunson.me - This website is for sale! - jacobbrunson Resources and Information.;

So the score/curve is based on Form S, but the # of questions wrong is still accurate, right?

Does anyone know what form A is for? Is it for international?

@SippingCoffee yeah, it should be accurate

Is it possible to find my access code after seeing my scores. I have access to my brother’s does and if I can find his access code then mine had always been one number off. I’m one if the people who can’t seem to access their scores at all.

Where can I see the curves?

Last year, I recieved an email with an access code so i could log into my college quickstart and check out my scores. Why haven’t I recieved one this year?

AH I just tried the method and it worked!! According to the method I got:
CR: -4 = 72
Math: -2 = 73
Writing: -2 = 73

Total: 218

I’m in Illinois and this is around the exact cutoff every year! I really hope I get in. Do you guys think it’s possible?

@SippingCoffee‌
I’m with u

For those trying to get scores and curves here’s a link to method <a href=“*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)* - #1966 by palm12341 - National Merit Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)* - #1966 by palm12341 - National Merit Scholarships - College Confidential Forums; and the PDF with curves.

@youngballajr Official results won’t be emailed this year but given by your school (including access code). But many schools wait.

Guys, the curve for this PSAT, on Wednesday, is almost a mirror image of the PSAT in 2008. For example, -2 in CR is 77, -1 in M is 77, and -1 in W is 77, so the writing and math would balance each other out (-1 in M is 76, -1 in W is 78 this year). Is it possible our cutoff then will look similar to the class that took the 2008 PSAT (class of 2010)I sure hope so!

Do you guys think the cut-off score will be approx. higher or lower this year? I read somewhere that it was a new type of test so it might be lower but who knows… fingers crossed

OMG YES PLEASE!! @Mango920452‌

@Mango920452‌ My school took form A because the test fell on our October break and we were given it 2 weeks late.
