Other: I’ve been taking Computer Science and Computer Technology courses every semester since the beginning of sophomore year. (the earliest year that electives are offered at my school) I even take programming courses that are above the level of the AP. (Systems Programming in C, Computer Graphics programming in C/Java) I thought I was a match for CMU:SCS, but apparently not.

i think most people at CC are good enough for every school, though how each school makes its decisions is in the dark…you have to be an admissions officer to know

ACCEPTED !!!
i was wondering when we get our acceptance letters and were we suppose to get an email or anything?
If it says accepted next to the school of choice that means yur in right?
lol i’m going paranoid

Other Factors:
My dad worked at CMU for ~17 years, but now that means nothing.
General Comments:
Now that I’m waitlisted, I can think of a million reasons why CMU wasn’t right for me anyway. I got accepted at UVA and am waiting to hear from Dartmouth (deferred ED) and Cornell (RD) so it looks like I may not go on the waitlist at all! Good luck to everyone though…CMU is a great school in a chill town…trust me…I live there! Also I went to daycare at CMU when my dad worked there and I live 20 min. from campus…too close to home! Well, we’ll see what happens…good luck to all, whereever you may go. We are all very privileged just to be able to go to college, no matter where. Never forget that. Never feel sorry for yourself, and who honestly cares an iota where your classmates are going. You look around, you fall behind in the race. “UPON MYSELF I MUST DEPEND.” Again best of luck to all!

Wow!~I can’t believe that CMU waitlisted you since your stats are high and your dad worked there so many years. Maybe you will hopefully get in if you still want CMU. This year must have had a huge increase in applicants.

Other: I really didn’t think that I would be a shoe-in for many architecture programs. I just decided to do it 1.5 years ago. I mean, except for 2-3 schools, I was accepted everywhere else, which was pretty awesome. I mean, I only started preparing my portfolio the summer before senior year, I was completely clueless, and I went to art class for barely a year a couple of times a week. I also didn’t do that well academically. I was above average, but not so much so. I guess so if I could do it, anybody can!
